Saturday’s Best Player To Hit A Home Run Prop Bets

Mike Trout (+280) & Hunter Renfroe (+350)

Twins’ starter Louie Varland’s kryptonite might be home runs. Over his first four starts of the season, he has allowed six home runs, including two in his last start against the Cubs.

Today his matchup got a lot tougher as he faces an Angels team that smashes RHP. Trout and Renfroe rank 1st and 3rd in the Angels lineups in ISO against RHP. Mike Trout has hit 9 of his 10 home runs against righties, while Hunter Renfroe has hit 8 of his 10 home runs against righties.

Among starters listed on today’s slate, Louie Varland has the highest HR/FB rate (27.3%)

Aaron Judge (+160)

Aaron Judge may be the hottest hitter in the MLB. It was about this time last season when he started his power surge toward a record-breaking season. Well, 2023 is no different. Since returning from the IL on May 9th, he is batting .317 with seven home runs, with five of them coming in his last five games.

It is hard to leave Aaron Judge off my bet slip, as I will ride this as long as I can.

Jack Suwinski (+400)

The Pirates slugger is making his debut on my HR Props and for good reason.

Jack Suwinski ranks 11th in the MLB in ISO against right-handed pitchers. His ISO of .306 is higher than Yordan Alvarez, Ronald Acuna Jr, Juan Soto, Mike Trout, and Shohei Ohtani. 

The Diamondbacks are starting right-hander Brandon Pfaadt. He is making his fourth career start. Early on, Pfaadt has struggled. He is 0-1 with an 8.59 ERA. What has hurt him early on is the long ball. Over his first three starts, he has allowed seven home runs with a 4.30 HR/9 rate, by far one of the worst rates in the MLB.

All seven of Jack Suwinski’s home runs have come against right-handed pitchers.
