Tuesday’s Best MLB Bets

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Houston Astros (+114) at Minnesota Twins (-135) | O/U 8.0 (-112/-102)

Sonny Gray was once again the Twins’ top pitcher, leading the team in ERA and hits per nine innings. He ended the season strong with a 1.54 ERA and batters having a .594 OPS in his last seven starts. He saw the Astros twice, and the Twins won both, with Gray going 13 innings, allowing four earned and striking out 16.

Cristian Javier had a fantastic 2022 with a career-high 11 wins and a 2.54 ERA. He then transitioned that into the playoffs, going 2-0 with a 0.71 ERA in three starts. 2023 did not go well for him with a career-high 4.56 ERA, 7.9 hits per nine and a career-low 8.8 strikeouts per nine. This Twins lineup has never gotten a hit off Javier, but it was only in 11 at-bats.

It is a pivotal game, as the winner gets to play a series clincher the next day. This is a perfect game to have Gray on the mound, going against a team he’s performed well against.

Pick: Twins Moneyline (-135)

Baltimore Orioles (+120) at Texas Rangers (-142) | O/U 9.0 (-115/-105)

Dean Kremer had a great season with a career-high 13 wins and 8.2 strikeouts per nine. In the season’s final weeks, when the Orioles were fighting for the AL East title, Kremer excelled with a 2.61 ERA, and the Orioles went 6-1 in his last seven starts.

In early September, Nathan Eovaldi returned from the IL but struggled with a 9.38 ERA in his final six starts. Thankfully, he received a substantial amount of run support, and the Rangers were 4-2 in those starts. This lineup is very familiar from his days with the Red Sox, and he has some solid numbers with the O’s hitting .264 against him.

Kremer hasn’t been any better with Rangers batting .298 against him. This will all come down to offense.

Bet: Over 9.0 (-115)
