MLB Playoffs Same Game Parlay Picks & Predictions for Wednesday: Phillies vs. Braves (10/12)

Every Game 1 of the Divisional Series was a blast.

The Phillies escaped the Braves on the road while the Astros used a Yordan Alvarez three-run walk-off homer to pull out a win at home. In the later games, the Yankees and Dodgers took care of business on their home field.

Today’s slate will only include two games. The two games will be in the NLDS.

Both pitching matchups are superb. But we can use that to our advantage with a same-game parlay that I’ve constructed for Phillies vs. Braves.

MLB Playoffs Same Game Parlay Picks & Predictions for Wednesday: Phillies vs. Braves

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Atlanta Braves

  • Leg 1: Rhys Hoskins 2+ Total Bases (+140)
  • Leg 2: JT Realmuto 1+ Hit (-210)
  • Leg 3: Zack Wheeler Over 5.5 K’s (+106)

Kyle Wright will take the mound for the Braves, hoping to lead Atlanta back to the win column. The Phillies earned a win in the first game of the three-game series. Now, Philadelphia is set up perfectly, with Zack Wheeler and Aaron Nola expected to pitch in the next two games.

Wright’s been excellent this year. He’s a 20-game winner and has a 3.39 xFIP over the last 30 days. Wright has been a big ground-ball pitcher this season, but he’s also allowed nearly 22% of line drives in the previous 30 days.

Against righties, only Kyle Schwarber, Rhys Hoskins, and J.T. Realmuto have had consistent success with power numbers.

Hoskins is hitting a .222 ISO with just 27.5% of ground balls hit and 30% of line drives hit in the last 30 days against righties. If Hoskins can limit ground balls against Wright, there’s a good chance contact by Hoskins turns into a line drive.

Meanwhile, J.T. Realmuto is hitting a .304 ISO and wOBA of .401 in his last 30 days. Realmuto has also hit 27.5% of line drives and has a BABIP of .327 with under 20% of strikeouts against righties.

Finally, Zack Wheeler will take the mound for the Phillies. He’s struck out 25.7% of batters and just had a start against the Cardinals. He won’t be rusty and looked terrific in that start. The Braves have struck out 24% of the time against righties over the last 30 days. Therefore, there’s a good chance Wheeler can earn six strikeouts in tonight’s game.
