Yankees vs. Guardians Same Game Parlay

As mentioned yesterday, Gerrit Cole needed to go deep and give an overworked bullpen the night off. He accomplished the mission and went seven innings allowing two earned and striking out eight to stave off elimination.

Jameson Taillon will get the start for the Yankees in this pressure-filled game. He had an incredible season with a team-high 14 wins, and his walks per nine were the fewest (1.6). He's got a few positive trends on his side that make Yankee fans happy - he was better pitching at home with a 3.47 ERA and has a win against Guardians this year, going five innings and allowing one.

New York was finally able to put pressure on the bases and did not score solely on the home run. They'll get the hitter-friendly Yankee Stadium so they can get those big hits, but not only relying on them will be important.

It will be 12 days since Aaron Civale pitched as he’s getting eased back after suffering right arm inflammation in September. This year, Civale has not been successful against the Yankees, going 0-2, allowing ten earned and three home runs in nine innings. In general, he's struggled in road starts with a 5.88 ERA, and he's 1-2 with a 4.80 ERA in his career at Yankee Stadium.

The Guardians were still getting runners on base in Game 4 and putting Cole under pressure, but he was pitching out of them like an ace should, unlike the last two games for the Yankees. Cleveland needs to continue that approach and could be more successful against Taillon.

There has yet to be a comfortable lead for either team in this series, and we've seen momentum change for both teams. I'm expecting the scoring to continue, and this should be another fun one to watch till out number 27.
