MLB Same Game Parlay Odds & Picks for Friday, August 19 (2022)

Today we have the future of the MLB on the mound. A few young starters are having impressive seasons, and it looks like they could be a future staple for their teams. We’ll see if they can keep their excellent runs going in favorable matchups.

Kansas City Royals vs. Tampa Bay Rays

  • Leg 1: Royals ML (+180)
  • Leg 2: Under 6.5 (-110)
  • Leg 3: Brady Singer Over 6.5 strikeouts (-106)

Shane McClanahan was a heavy favorite in the Cy Young race, but after a couple of recent bad starts and the great pitching of Justin Verlander and Dylan Cease, he’s fallen in the odds. He had a rebound start against the Orioles last week and faces another struggling lineup. The Royals are coming into today 17th in average (.245) and 22nd OBP (.298).

Brady Singer is another young starter that looks like he has a bright future in the league. He’s been on an excellent stretch as of late with a 2.16 ERA in his last eight starts, and the Royals are 6-2.

The Rays’ offense has been horrendous, with the third-lowest average (.211) and second-lowest slugging (.327) in August. We should expect good performance from both pitchers, but the strong play is to take KC in an upset.

Chicago White Sox vs. Cleveland Guardians

  • Leg 1: Guardians ML (-132)
  • Leg 2: Lance Lynn Under 4.5 strikeouts (-106)
  • Leg 3: Over 7.5  (-115)
  • Leg 4: Jose Ramirez to record a hit (-190)

Lance Lynn has far been the dependable pitcher he had been in previous years, going 3-5 record and a 5.62 ERA this season. His last start in Cleveland went terrible as he allowed a season-high eight earned runs in the loss. Overall he has struggled away from the Southside as he’s 0-3 with a 7.46 ERA in five road starts.

Triston McKenzie is on a terrific run and looks like a promising young starter for Cleveland. He has a 1.82 ERA in his last eight starts, but he, unfortunately, lost some games due to a lack of run support. Both of his starts against Chicago have been great, and he’s allowed two earned in ten innings with two wins.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees

  • Leg 1: Over 8 (-108)
  • Leg 2: Under 6.5 (-110)
  • Leg 3: Aaron Judge to record 2+ total bases (-115)
  • Leg 4: Bo Bicehtte to record 2+ total bases (+130)

After starting the season with 12 consecutive starts allowing three runs or less, Kevin Gausman has given up five runs in his few starts. He is untouchable in some starts, with three recent starts itching six or more innings and allowing no runs with those rough starts.

Jameson Taillon has had some highs and lows this season, but he’s still been one of the Yankees’ top starters. After a previous string of rough starts, he regrouped and has a 3.78 ERA, and the team is 4-2 in his starts. He’s been outstanding against the Blue Jays this season and allowed just four runs in 22 innings.
