Although Dylan Cease might have lost the edge over Justin Verlander in his recent start against him, he’s been one of the more dominating pitchers in the league. He’s just been absurd in the second half going 8-3 with 0.93 ERA, and two of those starts being against the Guardians, as he currently has a 12.2 inning scoreless streak against the team.
After a breakout season in 2021, Aaron Civale has struggled throughout the year. He recently returned from the IL with a wrist sprain and has had a couple of good starts, but both have been against the Tigers. The White Sox are one of the best offenses this month as they’re leading the league with a .342 BABIP and are fourth with a .275 average.
I’m backing Cease to have another excellent performance and White Sox offense.
