MLB Same Game Parlay Odds & Picks for Wednesday, August 24 (2022)

Yesterday didn’t go as planned. But we’ll look to regroup with three more Same-Game Parlays for today’s slate in the MLB. As always, the goal is to win one parlay on the slate. If you do that, you make a profit on the day.

Cleveland Guardians vs. San Diego Padres

  • Leg 1: Blake Snell Over 6.5 K’s (+110)
  • Leg 2: Cal Quantrill 3.5 K’s (+106)
  • Leg 3: Under 7.5 (-110)

I love the pitching matchup in this game. Blake Snell will get the start for the Padres. He has a 2.91 xFIP in the last 30 days and has struck out 36% of batters.

In that Guardians’ lineup, there are four players striking out at least 21.7% of the time and eight batters striking out at least 15.4% of the time against lefties. Snell figures to have a great game and go deep in this game to get his strikeout total up.

On the other hand, Cal Quantrill will take the hill for the Guardians. He’s struck out just 17.8% of batters in the last 30 days. But that’s okay. We’re only asking for four from Quantrill against a Padres lineup that has struck out 20.2% of the time against righties in the last month.

Juan Soto was scratched from yesterday’s game and could end up missing tonight’s game as well. If you take Juan Soto out of the lineup, the Padres’ strikeout rate will more than likely increase as Soto has only struck out 12.5% of the time against righties in the last 30 days.

I like both pitchers to earn a high amount of strikeouts, and those performances should help push this game under the total.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Tampa Bay Rays

  • Leg 1: Shane McClanahan Over 7.5 K’s (+110)
  • Leg 2: Randy Arozarena 2+ Total Bases (+140)
  • Leg 3: Harold Ramirez 1+ Hit (-260)

The Rays will pitch left-handed ace Shane McClanahan tonight. He’s got a 3.95 xFIP in the last 30 days and is finally increasing his strikeout rate again after last week’s quality performance. McClanahan has struck out 20.6% of batters in the last 30 days, but we all know he’s capable of earning a high amount of strikeouts as he did earlier this season.

The Angels have two batters striking out over 31% of the time against lefties, along with three more batters who are striking out more than 18% of the time against lefties.

Mike Trout is back in the lineup, and his strikeout rate has been low since returning against lefties. But he’s also very capable of whiffing on pitches. McClanahan has plenty of opportunities when it comes to reaching eight strikeouts.

On the other hand, Mike Mayers will pitch for the Angels. Through his last 42 plate appearances, he has an xFIP of 5.37 and has struggled against righties more than anything. Righties are hitting a .359 wOBA and ISO of .368 against Mayers in their last 19 plate appearances.

So let’s go ahead and take Randy Arozarena and Harold Ramirez to do some damage from the right side. Arozarena has a .184 ISO and wOBA of .336 against righties, while Ramirez has a .347 wOBA against righties.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

  • Leg 1: Mookie Betts 2+ Hits (+200)
  • Leg 2: Max Muncy 1+ Hit (-140)
  • Leg 3: Joey Gallo 1+ Hit (-105)

The Dodgers found a way to score 10 runs in a Corbin Burnes start last night. The offense has been electric recently, especially against righties when you have so many left-handed sluggers in the lineup.

Adrian Houser will make his return to the mound for the Brewers. On the season, he has a 4.79 xFIP with low strikeouts, high walks, and plenty of line drives allowed when balls are batted into play.

Houser has really struggled against lefties, allowing a .379 wOBA and ISO of .200 throughout the season before he was injured.

However, he’s actually allowed more line drives to righties when balls are batted into play. Both sides of the plate have potential.

Mookie Betts is a righty, but he’s hitting a .230 ISO and a wOBA of .353 against righties in the last 30 days. Meanwhile, Max Muncy is slugging a .373 ISO with a wOBA of .432 in his last 76 plate appearances against righties. Lastly, Joey Gallo has a .343 ISO and a wOBA of .366 against righties.

This is a spot where Muncy and Gallo can both go yard. I’ll just take both to get a hit, but it’s very possible that those hits leave the yard.
