MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Friday (4/28)
We continue to see positive results betting an offensive matchup we like paired with one hitter from that roster so there is no need for us to change the process. With the Mexico City series this weekend, there are only 14 games today as the Giants and Padres have an off day.

Pittsburgh Pirates at Washington Nationals
The Pirates have been one of the biggest surprises of the early season, with their pitching over-performing and their offense having a wRC+ of 111. Former Pirate Chad Kuhl takes the mound today sporting an ERA over seven, along with nearly more walks than strikeouts. He has also allowed almost 2.5 HR/9. This upstart Pirates offense would have no issues scoring against Kuhl.
On the other end of the game, veteran Rich Hill gets the ball. While the Nationals have proven to be a tough matchup, especially against lefties where they have a wRC+ of 111, Hill should be able to limit their offense. His issue has been home runs, and despite their high wRC+, the Nationals have the lowest ISO against lefties in the league. Their success is a bit of smoke and mirrors.
Suwinski is off to an incredible start to the season and is quietly one of the better power hitters in the league. His limitations are Ks with a slightly elevated K-rate at 27%, but his wRC+ is at 165. He is the best bet on this Pirates team to put up multiple hits or hit an HR.
Parlay Odds: +450
New York Mets at Atlanta Braves
The Braves are sending their ace Max Fried to the mound. Fried was injured in his first start of the season but has been excellent since returning. The K-numbers are down, but that is likely a combination of sample size and the injury. The Mets have a 103 wRC+ against lefties, but Iâm not concerned about Friedâs ability to limit scoring in this one.
On the other end, David Peterson is starting for the Mets, and he has a much more difficult road. He faces a Bravesâ offense with a wRC+ of 131 against lefties, and Peterson has struggled mightily in 2023. His main issue has been the long ball which makes this even more difficult for Peterson as the Bravesâ offense has the third-best ISO against lefties.
At the center of that offense is Austin Riley. Riley has gotten off to a slightly slow start in the power department, but he is still one of the leagueâs best power hitters. In his career, he has a 145 wRC+ against lefties and is my favorite Brave to bet to go yard tonight.
Parlay Odds: +800
Tampa Bay Rays at Chicago White Sox
This one is not as clean of an argument as the first two but I still really like the Rays here. Zach Eflin has been excellent in his short time with the Rays but was interrupted by an injury. He gets to face a White Sox team in absolute free fall. They have a wRC+ of 84, despite what seems like a solid offense on paper. Eflin should continue his strong start in this one, setting the Rays up for another win.
On the offensive side, the Rays get to face Lucas Giolito. Giolito has gotten off to an interesting start, with a little bit of regression in Ks; however, he has paired that with a walk rate much better than his career norms. All of the ERA estimators peg him around 4.50. The Raysâ offense is currently elite, and with the state of the White Sox, I believe that they will be able to get to Giolito and put up a crooked number.
Lowe is off to an incredible start in the power department with an ISO over .300. His K% is extremely elevated in order to chase down this power level but that does not matter too much for us. All we need is one big swing from the lefty, and he should be able to pull it off.
