MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Friday (6/23)

We only have fourteen games this Friday as the Cardinals and Cubs have an off day before their two-game series in London. There are no early games on the books but there are some northeast weather concerns so be careful for DFS or other places where a rainout might hurt you. Let’s dive into my three favorite SGP bets of the day.

Friday’s MLB Best Same Game Parlay Bets

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Pittsburgh Pirates at Miami Marlins

The Pirates have a top-12 offense by wRC+ (106) this season against Southpaws, and while they are without Bryan Reynolds, he is not a big part of the reason this team succeeds versus lefties. The addition of former first-overall pick Henry Davis should help prop this offense up and should go a long way to helping hit this bet. Jesus Luzardo has given up five or more runs in three of his last six outings. Luis Ortiz has shown some flashes, but the numbers are a bit concerning with too many HRs and BBs. However, despite the Marlins being one of the hottest teams in baseball, Ortiz has enough raw talent to keep their offense in check, especially in the Marlins’ home stadium, and help this bet to hit.

There is no shortage of players I could have chosen from here, as there are a few Pirates with elite splits versus lefties. Joe, however, had the longest odds, and when there’s not a massive difference in players, I like to go with the one that adds the most to my payout. Joe has a 0.280 ISO and 169 wRC+ versus lefties this season, and that all matches up fantastically for him versus Luzardo today.

Combined Odds: +600

New York Mets at Philadelphia Phillies

Kodai Senga has shown the makings of an ace, but he often hurts himself by allowing far too many walks. He just does not allow hits, however, with only 54 in 71 innings, so it is all dependent on his ability to limit walks. Despite Harper and Schwarber, the Phillies have the 25th lowest BB% in the league, which should help Senga out. The Mets’ offense is coming off a strong weekend in Houston despite only having one win to show for it. They have a 107 wRC+ in the last two weeks and seem poised to regain the form we hoped to see at the beginning of the season. They should be able to keep rolling against Taijuan Walker.

Pham is a huge part of the turnaround of the Mets’ offense. He has a 171 wRC+ in June to go along with an over .300 AVG. He has a hit in seven straight games and multiple hits in three of those games. I like his chances of igniting the Mets’ offense and helping hit his leg of this bet.

Combined Odds: +425

Atlanta Braves at Cincinnati Reds

Let’s have some fun betting on the most exciting team in baseball over the last several weeks. The Reds added a youth infusion to their offense, and it has led them to a 112 wRC+ over the last fourteen days. They are facing AJ Smith-Shawver, who has pitched well to begin his career but has a fly ball profile that might not work extremely well in Great American Ballpark. The power bats of the Reds may be able to take advantage of this profile and use it to their advantage. They will also need to stop the Braves the scoring, which is a much tougher task. Feel free to also swap in the over 11.5 Runs game total for the ML for a similar payout. Luke Weaver has struggled with homers and is facing the best offense of the last two weeks. No matter what, this game should be a ton of fun to watch.

Elly has been a huge spark to begin his career, but a high K-rate and high GB% have some people concerned. His speed can cover a lot of his flaws, however, and this is an excellent matchup for him. GB hitters tend to do well versus FB pitchers, and this means great things for Elly. He is quickly becoming a must-watch player every night.

Combined Odds: +450
