Friday’s Best MLB Same Game Parlays

All odds are from DraftKings Sportsbook

Cleveland Guardians at Chicago Cubs

Leg 1: Guardians ML (+140)
Leg 2: Guardians o4.5 Runs (+140)

I’m picking on this game because the line doesn’t seem to fit with what I would’ve expected. Justin Steele is pitching for the Cubs, and he has had an excellent season thus far. Additionally, Cleveland has struggled against lefties with an 87 wRC+. All this doesn’t seem right for liking this bet, but the main reasoning is that Quantrill should be able to limit a struggling Cubs’ offense, and the Guardians’ offense has improved. Their 104 wRC+ versus lefties in the last month is the tenth-best in baseball. They should be able to get to this run total while holding on to victory.

Leg 3: Josh Naylor 2+ TBs (+140)

Sometimes Naylor sits versus lefties, so make sure he is in the lineup. If he isn’t, swap him out for another hitter like Jose Ramirez if you don’t mind lowering the upside or someone like Josh Bell if you want to keep it the same. Naylor’s wRC+ is much lower against lefties, but his ISO remains around the same, and if the Guardians get into the Cubs’ bullpen, it is very RHP-heavy.

Combined Odds: +425

Milwaukee Brewers at Pittsburgh Pirates

Leg 1: Pirates ML (+115)
Leg 2: Pirates o4.5 Runs (+150)

Osvaldo Bido is making his fourth start in the majors, and with all of the hype that young starters have gotten this season, his excellent numbers have gone relatively unnoticed. He has a K-BB% over 18% and has done a good job of limiting the long ball. He faces a struggling Brewers offense (80 wRC+ last 30 days) and should be able to keep up his excellent start to his career. Freddy Peralta is tasked with limiting a similarly struggling Pirates’ offense, but unlike Bido, he has had an HR issue. The Pirates don’t have a game-changing offense, but they have several hitters with enough pop to take advantage of the homer problems Peralta has.

Leg 3: Jack Suwinski 2+ TBs (+170)

One of the hitters with the power to take advantage of the flaws is Suwinski. His power is legit; he has an ISO of 0.264 this season with 16 homers already. With his profile, this feels like way too long of odds for his total bases props.

Combined Odds: +500

San Francisco Giants at New York Mets

Leg 1: Giants -1.5 (+135)
Leg 2: Giants o5.5 Runs (+150)

Alex Cobb makes his return from the IL for the Giants, and the righty is once again having an excellent season. He limits homers extremely well and has a 16% K-BB. The Mets’ offense has actually been decent lately, so he will be tasked with trying to keep that under control to help hit the run line. The Giants have had an above-average offense over the last month with a 104 wRC+, and they are facing Carlos Carrasco, who has had a rough 2023. His strikeouts are way down, with walks and homers way up. Carrasco has allowed four or more runs in five of his 10 starts in 2023. The Giants should be able to take advantage and possibly make that six of eleven games with four or more runs allowed.

Leg 3: Lamonte Wade Jr 2+ TBs (+120)

Wade has a 153 wRC+ against righties in 2023, and as a result, this number feels like it should be much closer to even money. The lefty does carry a high walk rate which makes it tougher to hit these total bases bets, but his ISO is over 0.180. He is a really talented hitter who hits at the top of the order, which should give him a number of chances to hit this bet.

Combined Odds: +425
