Today MLB celebrates one of the greatest to ever play the game in Roberto Clemente. The day kicks off with the Yankees heading to Pittsburgh to face off with Clemente’s Pirates. We have every team on the schedule this Friday so plenty to choose from when building our SGPs.

Boston Red Sox at Toronto Blue Jays

While I don’t think the production has quite looked like what many expected from Bello, he has proven to be a fantastic pitcher already in the majors. The strikeout numbers are something we would like to see tick up a bit, but he does not walk many hitters and while his homers are slightly elevated, they are nothing crazy. The Blue Jays’ offense is very good but right now they are struggling as they battle for a playoff spot with four straight losses.

Jose Berrios has had a great bounceback season posting extremely similar numbers to Bello but with a bit more strikeout upside. However, his game log contains several games this season of 4+ runs being allowed including back-to-back starts of five runs allowed a few starts ago. He always has blowup potential and this one looks like a blowup game.

Story has been pretty bad since coming back from injury, mostly due to a massive K%. With Berrios not exactly being a strikeout artist this could be a good matchup for Story and we never questioned his ability to hit to power.

Cincinnati Reds at New York Mets

I am a big fan of the Mets’ David Peterson and believe there will be a really good season or two in his career but for right now his main issue is far too many walks. He has done a good job with walks in his last few outings but too often this season he has put himself in a bad spot and then needs to be taken out of games early giving way to a suspect Mets bullpen.

The Reds have not been as good as they were earlier in the season but there’s still a ton of offensive upside in this lineup. Hunter Greene will be asked to limit the Mets’ offense and with this bet, we don’t need him to do a ton, just keep the Reds in the game. He has too many walks and homers but the stuff is so excellent that he is able to overcome these issues at times to post great lines. This will be a tight one but the slate does not have a ton of interesting bets to offer.

Steer has been fantastic this season as an everyday player and he has hit lefties extremely well. He has a 132 wRC+ against them this season with a 0.228 ISO. This price does not fit with that offensive upside so he is a great addition to this bet.

Parlay Odds: +475

Philadelphia Phillies at St Louis Cardinals

Over the last month, the Phillies have the second-best offense in the league with a 137 wRC+, and all season they have had a top-ten offense versus lefties. Zach Thompson has some interesting numbers for the Cardinals with a lot of Ks (slightly elevated from his time as a reliever) and a few too many walks. He does not allow a ton of long balls but with the way this Phillies’ offense is built, they can take any pitcher deep. They should score easily but the other side of this one is a bit more in question.

Aaron Nola is having a rough season, and while his skills look similar, everything is slightly worse than his career norms. He recently faced this same lineup and dominated so we are hoping to see a similar level of production but considering the bar the offense needs to reach, we don’t need dominant, we just need serviceable from him today

Similar to his battery mate, Realmuto is not quite having an elite season but he is still an above-average hitter. He has a 120 wRC+ versus lefties with an ISO over 0.280. This indicates he is a bit underpriced and this is a good leg to add.

Parlay Odds: +425
