Friday’s Best Same Game Parlay Picks

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles

Red Sox ML (+100) and o5.5 Runs (+210)

The Orioles officially clinched the division last night, which means they no longer have something to play for. Starter John Means is only a few games back from Tommy John Surgery, so he should go fairly deep into this game, but I do not expect the team’s best lineup. Nick Pivetta has quietly been really good this season, posting crazy strikeout numbers. With a likely lesser lineup, he should have no issues keeping the Red Sox in this one. The Red Sox offense has not been a world-beater either, but they have enough talent to do damage here and do have a league-average offense versus lefties. Assuming Baltimore also rests some of their best pen arms, this lines up well for Boston.

Adam Duvall 2+ TBs (+125)

Duvall only has a 101 wRC+ versus lefties, but he does have an ISO over 0.240, making him a great bet to use that power in this one.

Combined Odds: +425

Tampa Bay Rays at Toronto Blue Jays

Rays ML (+120) and 04.5 Runs (+170)

As a team, the Rays have the fourth-highest wRC+ versus lefties, and while they have clinched a playoff spot and the division is out of reach, their roster is deep enough that even without sending their very best out there they can build a competitive lineup. Yusei Kikuchi has been very good this season, but the homer issues are still present, and as a result, he is prone to blowups. Aaron Civale has struggled a bit lately, and the Blue Jays have a talented offense, but heading into the postseason, the Rays are looking for Civale to get back on track to help them make their postseason push. His issues have been the long ball, so the goal of the day is to keep the ball in the yard, and whichever pitcher does a better job will lead their team to victory.

Isaac Paredes 2+ TBs (+180)

While Paredes has been better versus righties, he has an excellent 124 wRC+ versus lefties this season. The power is down slightly with a 0.151 ISO, but at this price, he is too good of a hitter for us to not bet on him.

Combined odds: +500

Houston Astros at Arizona Diamondbacks

Astros ML (+110) and o5.5 Runs (+170)

The Astros and Diamondbacks are both still fighting for playoff spots in opposite leagues, making this a fascinating final series. JP France was one of the best stories of the season, as the rookie was dominant for long stretches. His numbers still look extremely solid on the surface, but his estimators are not as rosy. He just needs to keep this game close and let his offense do the work, and even with a tough matchup, they should. Zac Gallen is excellent, but the Astros’ have one of the best top halves of a lineup in baseball, and no matter who the pitcher is (they just destroyed Luis Castillo), they can do enough damage to win. This may be a bit of a shootout, but their offense has a big edge over the DBacks.

Yordan Alvarez 2+ TBs (+115)

Yordan is one of the best hitters in baseball, and anytime we can get him with the platoon advantage at plus money for his TB prop, we are going to take it. As he goes, so does this Astros’ offense, and I expect him to carry them today.

Combined Odds: +400
