MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday (4/1)

Monday’s won’t always be this exciting in the MLB. However, we’ve got 14 games to pick from for our two Same-Game Parlays. That can get a bit overwhelming. But I did all the work for you.

After sifting through all of the matchups, I’ve found my favorite two games for some SGP action.

Toronto Blue Jays @ Houston Astros

I love the 2-3-4 hitters in the Blue Jays lineup tonight. Toronto is facing Ronel Blanco of the Astros, who was horrible last season. Blanco gave up a .210 ISO and wOBA of .357 to 226 batters. He also induced just .34.7% of ground balls and allowed 34.7% of fly balls in those 226 plate appearances.

Blanco can get a bit wild and walk a lot of batters. But ultimately, these three Blue Jays hitters are more aggressive against righties and don’t walk at a super high rate.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a .201 ISO and wOBA of .346 last season, with just 14.7% of strikeouts against righties. He’s already batting .308 this season and has a home run this year.

Bo Bichette hasn’t started the season as hot. Still, he hit a .158 ISO and wOBa of .348 against righties last season while striking out only 20.5% of the time. He’s got an edge as long as he plays in tonight’s game.

Finally, we’ll roll with Justin Turner. He has hit .286 for the Blue Jays so far this season and has one home run with four RBIs in 14 at-bats. Turner also hit a .157 ISO and wOBA of .337 against righties last season.

All three of those players have a long-term track record of hitting bad right-handed pitching.

New York Yankees @ Arizona Diamondbacks

The Yankees have started the season 4-0. They’ll likely make it five tonight, depending on Luis Gil’s start. However, if Gil throws an average ball game, the Yankees will be in line for the win.

They’re facing Ryne Nelson of the Diamondbacks, who allowed a .228 ISO and wOBA of .364 to 648 batters last season. He was worse against lefties but also bad against righties, giving up plenty of extra-base hits to both sides of the plate.

Last season, Juan Soto drilled a .273 ISO and wOBA of .416 against righties. He also walked more than he struck out, proving his patience to wait for his pitch. Soto already has 11 at-bats against Nelson and two home runs with a 1.429 OPS.

Meanwhile, Aaron Judge hasn’t faced Nelson, but he hit a .334 ISO and wOBA of .427 against righties last year. Judge has a high strikeout rate against righties, but Nelson only struck out 17.7% of right-handed batters last season. Advantage Judge.

Finally, we’ll add another lefty in here. Alex Verdugo smashed a .185 ISO and wOBA of .342 with only 15% of strikeouts against righties. In 15 at-bats, Verdugo has only one RBI, a .200 average and a .435 OPS. Still, a matchup against Nelson could help him break out for the season.
