MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday (7/17)

It’s a new week in the MLB. However, we’ve still got some bad weather around the league. The MLB can’t escape the rain lately. Still, we’ll be able to dodge the rain with two same-game parlays in games without delays or postponements due to rain.

Here are a couple of same-game parlays for those matchups.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles and Dodgers will play their first game of this interleague series tonight. Emmet Sheehan is scheduled to take the mound for the Dodgers.

Sheehan has thrown to 21 lefties in the last month and has allowed a .333 ISO and wOBA of .426 to hose 21 lefties. He’s allowed over 53% of fly balls and nearly 77% of hard contact over the last month against lefties as a right-handed pitcher.

Therefore, I’ve added Anthony Santander and Gunnar Henderson to this parlay. Henderson has hit a .209 ISO and wOBA of .347 against his last 72 righties. Meanwhile, Santander has slugged a .352 ISO and wOBA of .456 against his last 79 righties. Santander is a switch-hitter, but he’ll bat from the left side against Sheehan in this game.

On the other hand, Grayson Rodriguez will get the call for the Orioles for the first time since late May. Rodriguez faced 211 batters this season and allowed a .275 ISO and wOBA of .407. He might improve this time, but it’ll be tough against this Dodgers lineup.

Mookie Betts has hit a .417 ISO and wOBA of .462 against lefties over the last 30 days. He’s also struck out under 10% of the time. He’s always got potential for an extra-base hit or a two-hit game.

Parlay Odds: +736

New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Angels

It’s been a miserable time for Luis Severino over his last couple of starts. In the previous month, Severino has allowed a .273 ISO and wOBA of .533 to his last 51 lefties. He’s not earning high-ground balls against lefties and has allowed over 47% of line-drive contact against lefties in the previous month with 55.3% of hard contact.

Shohei Ohtani has slugged a .446 ISO and wOBA of .464 against his last 60 righties. Mickey Moniak has hit a .321 ISO and woBA of .418 against his last 54 righties. Finally, Mike Moustakas slugged a .208 ISO and wOBA of .387 against his last 52 righties.

Severino is not getting many whiffs or swinging strikes against lefties. That likely continues tonight. With those three lefties crushing righties over the last month, I’m confident they’ll all get on base at a high rate tonight.
