MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday (8/14)

We’ve got a nine-game slate in the MLB tonight. Some series’ are a little less critical than others. However, I’ve added two same-game parlays between teams that still have a shot at making the playoffs.

Let’s get right to it!

Monday’s Best MLB Same Game Parlay Bets

New York Yankees vs. Atlanta Braves

  • Leg 1: Ozzie Albies Over 1.5 Total Bases (-115)
  • Leg 2: Matt Olson Over 1.5 Total Bases  (-105)
  • Leg 3: Michael Harris Over 1.5 Total Bases (+120)

Clarke Schmidt will take the hill for the Yankees tonight. He’s a right-handed pitcher, struggling against lefties throughout the season.

This year, Schmidt has allowed a .214 ISO and wOBA of .378 to 252 lefties. However, in the last month, he’s given up a .227 ISO and wOBA of .347.

Meanwhile, Ozzie Albies has hit a .284 ISO and wOBA of .382 against his last 108 righties. Matt Olson has slugged a .378 ISO and wOBA of .495, and Michael Harris has hit a .153 ISO and wOBA of .401 against righties over the last month.

Schmidt has allowed a 62 percent hard contact rate against lefties over the last 30 days and has allowed a 27 percent line-drive contact rate against lefties in that span.

He’s also struck out only 13.7% of lefties in the last month and has earned just a 7.6 percent swinging strike rate. He’s not fooling lefties at all.

Back the three best left-handed hitters on the Braves to earn at least two total bases.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Texas Rangers

  • Leg 1: Patrick Sandoval Over 4.5 K’s (-180)
  • Leg 2: Shohei Ohtani Over 1.5 Total Bases (-120)
  • Leg 3: Mike Moustakas Over 1.5 Total Bases (-122)

I was being generous above. I don’t think the Angels can make the playoffs anymore. But they were buyers at the deadline and likely still believe they can be in the hunt in the American League.

Patrick Sandoval has struck out 26.6 percent of righties over the last month for the Angels. The left-hander will likely face seven righties in tonight’s Rangers lineup.

The Rangers’ righties have struck out 25.4 percent of the time against righties over the last month, and the two lefties have also struck out 26.5 percent of the time. As a lineup, the Rangers have struck out nearly 26 percent of the time against lefties.

Sandoval has held his last 93 batters to a .134 ISO and wOBA of .265, so he should get through six innings tonight.

On the other hand, Max Scherzer will take the hill for the Rangers. The veteran righty has allowed a .258 ISO and wOBA of .363 to his last 75 batters. He was much better in his previous start, but he always has that one inning where he doesn’t have it.

Shohei Ohtani has hit a .470 ISO and wOBA of .548 against his last 77 righties. Meanwhile, Mike Moustakas has slugged a .292 ISO and wOBA of .407 against his last 76 righties.

Let’s hope those two lefties launch some baseballs when Scherzer has his lousy inning.
