MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday (8/28)

There are 14 games on the MLB slate tonight! That doesn’t happen on most Mondays! It’s usually a getaway day after a weekend-long series.

With so many games on the horizon, I’ve added two same-game parlays to consider for tonight’s slate.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Philadelphia Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies have an incredible lineup. The Phillies didn’t perform well in the first half of the season. But that’s changed in the second half. Philadelphia leads the NL Wild Card and likely will hold onto that spot for the remainder of the season.

As a projected lineup, the Phillies have hit a .266 ISO and wOBA of .399 against righties in the last 30 days. They’ve also struck out just 19.7% of the time.

Tonight, the Phillies will take on Lucas Giolito of the Angels. Giolito came over from the White Sox and hasn’t improved at all. He’s allowed a .271 ISO and wOBA of .383 to his last 100 batters. Lefties have hit a .250 ISO and wOBA of .384, while righties have slugged a .289 ISO and wOBA of .381.

Giolito will get a strikeout here and there against the Phillies. But he’ll also make some mistakes and pay for it.

Kyle Schwarber has smacked a .390 ISO and wOBA of .428 against his last 76 righties. Meanwhile, Trea Turner has hit a .237 ISO and wOBA of .394 against his last 84 righties.

Finally, Bryce Harper has smacked a .323 ISO and wOBA of .483 against his last 76 righties. This Philadelphia lineup is lethal against righties. Giolito’s will have another walk of shame to the dugout tonight.

Parlay Odds: +720

Chicago White Sox vs. Baltimore Orioles

Michael Kopech will get the call for the White Sox tonight.

He had a solid start to his season, but he’s fallen off quickly. Kopech has allowed a .262 ISO and wOBA of .389 to his last 107 batters last month. He’s thrown an average of 85.4 pitches per start and has struck out only 14% of batters while walking 20.6%.

The Orioles don’t work many walks against righties. Therefore, it’s likely that the Orioles will be up at the plate swinging, looking to put the ball in play.

Kopech has allowed 33.3% of fly balls while inducing just 33.3% of ground balls in the last 30 days. He’s also allowed 24.6% of line drives and over 46% of hard contact.

He’ll face three Orioles, who have destroyed righties in the last 30 days. Ryan Mountcastle is a righty, hitting a .158 ISO and wOBA of .406 against his last 68 righties.

Meanwhile, Gunnar Henderson and Anthony Santander, two lefties, have also smacked around right-handed pitchers recently. Henderson has hit a .297 ISO and wOBA of .407, with only 18.8% of strikeouts in the last 30 days against righties.

Santander has smacked a .362 ISO and wOBA of .386 against his last 63 righties.

Let’s stack the middle of the order for the Orioles!
