(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Los Angeles Dodgers @ Chicago Cubs
- Leg 1: Over 8 (-110)
- Leg 2: Dodgers Moneyline (-188)
- Leg 3: Mookie Betts To Record 2 Hits (+185)
After a tough first series against the Rangers, the Cubs are rolling by winning six straight, including a win in the first game of this series. The offense has done well, as they are second in OBP and seventh in AVG, but that happens when you face the Rockies pitching. Jordan Wicks is entering his second year after getting called up in early August last year. His biggest issue continues to be control; he allowed three walks in his previous start and, last season, had a 7.5% walk rate.
There was a lot of hype around the Dodgers’ lineup, and they have fulfilled it. They're one of the best lineups in the league, third in AVG, OBP and SLG. Mookie Betts leads with a .415 average, five home runs, 11 RBI and a 1.527 OPS. Yoshinobu Yamamoto fared much better in his second start, going for five scoreless innings, two hits and five strikeouts.
The Dodgers should do well if Wicks doesn't have his control because they're fourth in walk rate and the Cubs are first. This should be a high-scoring game.

Oakland Athletics @ Detroit Tigers
- Leg 1: Under 7.5 (-110)
- Leg 2: Paul Blackburn Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-122)
- Leg 3: Kenta Maeda Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-146)
With so much news about the Athletics in recent days, you would want them to distract you with their on-field play, but they can't. The team will be near the bottom in every category as it goes into tank mode. Paul Blackburn is their best starter and had a great season debut, pitching seven scoreless against the Guardians. He's not a hard thrower, but he was getting sharp movement from his slider and curveball.
The Tigers are coming out of the gate strong, going 6-1, but they've played the White Sox, Mets and Athletics so far, so it's too early to tell if this team is a contender. Facing some struggling offenses has made this rotation look great, as their 2.90 ERA is seventh in the league. Kenta Maeda was the only one to get roughed up on his first start, going just 3.1 innings and allowing six earned runs and three home runs against the White Sox.
Two of those long balls were by Luis Robert Jr., but Oakland doesn’t have a true power hitter. Detroit’s hitting isn't any better. Blackburn should have another efficient outing, especially with the Tigers' 0.93 bullpen ERA. You should trust this to be a low-scoring game.
Parlay Odds: +485
Arizona Diamondbacks @ Atlanta Braves
Atlanta is the only team in the NL East with an above-.500 record. It's still early, but they could run away with the division again. The power pitching has been mowing down batters, as they've had the third-best strikeout per nine rate, and the power bats are leading the slugging. Max Fried will try to shake off a bad start, as he only went 0.2 innings, allowing three earned runs.
Arizona has had some tough breaks, as they have dropped the last two games in extra innings. The offense has been great recently, hitting .280 and scoring 17 runs in the previous three games. Brandon Pfaadt gets the start, and his season debut was phenomenal. He went five innings and allowed one earned run in a win.
Fried should be better, and the Braves should control the roll in a win.
