MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Saturday (8/26)
The trade deadline is over, and we saw some blockbusters happen. We now have less than two months left in the season, so we're mainly interested in seeing which teams stay competitive.
Saturday's Best MLB Same Game Parlay Bets
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
New York Yankees at Tampa Bay Rays
Tyler Glasnow has been on an impressive run at the moment, with a quality start in five of his last six and a 2.54 ERA in that time. He was tremendous in his previous start against the Yankees, getting them to chase the slider for swings and misses or weak contact, resulting in seven innings, allowing one earned and striking out eight.
Aside from Gerrit Cole, Clarke Schmidt has been one of the better pitchers in this Yankees rotation, filled with injuries and poor performances. He saw the Rays earlier this season and was shelved for seven earned in 4.2 innings.
Schmidt is also coming in with a 5.75 ERA on the road, and going against Glasnow, there's little room for error.
Parlay Odds: +660
Los Angeles Dodgers at Boston Red Sox
After a solid start to the season, James Paxton is having a bit of a rough stretch with a 5.31 ERA and 6.31 FIP, and opposing batters are hitting .330 in his last four starts. The long ball and walks were the problems in the two worst starts of this stretch, and he might find himself in trouble facing the Royals, who are second in walk rate and 12th in home run rate.
After an incredible 2022, it's been a disappointment for Julio Urias. His biggest problem this season is location because last year, he was able to keep the ball away from the batter's sweet spot with a 6.7% barrel rate, but that has risen to 7.9% and gone from over the 80th percentile in xBA and xSLG to below the league average.
We should see a slugfest in Boston, but I'm siding with the Dodgers in a win.
Parlay Odds: +532
Kansas City Royals at Seattle Mariners
Logan Gilbert is continuing off the success from last season, and a lot of metrics have significantly improved - He went from a chase rate in the 12th percentile in 2022 to 76th this year and a strikeout rate from the 49th to 61st. The Royals are fresh on his mind, but they got to him, scoring four runs in the win.
Journeyman Jordan Lyles is having a dreadful season, allowing a league-leading 96 earned runs and 14 losses. He had a great beginning to his start against the Mariners, but it all went downhill when they put up seven runs in the fourth inning.
The Mariners are one of the hottest teams in baseball, winning nine of their last 10, with this run starting with a sweep against the Royals.
Parlay Odds: +519
