MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Saturday (9/2)

We have just one more month of the regular season. With all of the teams still in contention, it’ll be a fun few weeks. Let’s look at some important matchups with teams needing wins to stay in the race.

San Francisco Giants at San Diego Padres

There hasn't been a starting pitcher better than Blake Snell in the second half of the season. Since May 31 (min. ten starts), he leads the league with a 1.36 ERA, and opponents are batting just .163. He’s seen the Giants once already this season and went six scoreless innings, allowing three hits and 11 strikeouts. He’s been so good that this wasn’t his best start.

The Giants' top prospect, Kyle Harrison, has already made an impact as San Fransisco is in the thick of the Wild Card race. The power pitcher comes with an electric fastball, and as he throws for nearly 70 percent of his pitches, he's getting a whiff rate of 39 percent.

It’s a big test for Harrison as the Padres can get on base and hit for power. He will have to be nearly perfect to beat Snell and the run he's on.

Parlay Odds: +614

Seattle Mariners at New York Mets

Luis Castillo is on an incredible run at the moment with a 2.00 ERA and opponents having a .492 OPS in his last four starts. The mix of his performances and the Mariners' recent run has helped both as they climb back in the playoff race and won six consecutive Castillo starts.

After setting a career-high in wins last season, it's been a regression for David Peterson and the Mets in general. Peterson has bounced from the rotation to the bullpen and back the last couple of years and has faired much better in his recent return as a starter with a 3.27 ERA, but he's pitched past the fifth inning in one start, and the Mets are 3-2 over his last five.

The Mariners struggled last night against the Mets' best pitcher, but they will bounce back tonight.

Parlay Odds: +542

New York Yankees at Houston Astros

It's been a disastrous year for Luis Severino, as he hasn't been able to be consistent. The Yankees are 7-10 in his starts this season, and of those seven wins, just two are against teams currently above .500. One of the losses from the Astros a month ago when he allowed five earned in four innings, three of them in the first where he has a league-worst 12.94 ERA.

When Hunter Brown can get his breaking ball working, he is tough to hit. The electric fastball gets into the upper 90s and can get the swing and the miss with the pitch, but when he relies on it too much, he gets into trouble. He was on the other side against Luis Severino in the last series, and he went six innings and allowed two earned in the win.

Parlay Odds: +653
