MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Saturday, September 3 (2022)

All divisional rivals for today’s slate. We have three first places teams and although their opponents do not factor in the divisional race, doesn’t mean they’re going roll over. In fact, one of those teams have their best pitcher on the mound that has been successful against this opponent all season.

Washington Nationals vs. New York Mets

  • Leg 1:  Mets -2.5 (-112)
  • Leg 2: Over 7.5 (+102)
  • Leg 3: Under 0.5 runs in the first inning (-130)

The Mets have not been kind to Mad Max in his recent starts. He had a favorable matchup against the Rockies and went seven strong, allowing just one earned, but he saw no run support as the Mets were shut out in his loss. He comes in with another favorable matchup and has had success against his former team, the Nationals, earning two wins this year.

He should see plenty of run support as he goes against Patrick Corbin. His struggles have been well documented in these parlay articles, and fading him has been very successful throughout the year. Last week ended what was exactly two months and ten starts between wins, but it came against the Reds.

We usually don’t do locks, but this is as much of one as we’ll proclaim.

San Diego Padres vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

  • Leg 1:  Dodgers -1.5 (-108)
  • Leg 2: Over 8.5 (-114)
  • Leg 3: Under 0.5 runs in the first inning (-106)

The Dodgers are clearly the favorites to win the title because of a great lineup, but mainly due to a rotation that is ready for a seven-game series. While Tony Gonsolin is getting most of the attention this season, Julio Urias has been just as fantastic. He’s been nearly untouchable as he’s one run or less in seven of eight starts and has won 11 of his last 12 decisions.

Sean Manea was brought over from Oakland, hoping to be an important part of this rotation, but his tenure in San Diego has not gone as many hoped. He had a rough July going 1-2 with a 7.88 ERA, one of those being against the Dodgers, who allowed eight earned.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Houston Astros

  • Leg 1:  Astros ML (+102)
  • Leg 2: Under 8 (-110)
  • Leg 3: Astros ML 1st half (+145)

Shohei Ohtani’s impact on a struggling Angels team cannot be compared to any player as he continues to accomplish new feats. He became the first player in MLB history to hit 30 home runs and have ten pitching wins in the same season. The Angels have not had much success this season, but Ohtani has against the future AL West champions allowing just two earned in 10.2 innings and struck out 12 in his last outing.

Luis Garcia has progressively gotten worse as the season goes on. The end of August continued the trend of an increased ERA after every month. He hopes to get back on track and has had some success against LAA this going six innings and allowing one earned.

The dominance of Ohtani on the mound is well documented, and he’s going to put up another great stat line, but it’ll be wasted as the Angels’ offense will not give him any help.
