MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Sunday (4/9)
The second weekend of the 2023 season is upon us, with many teams playing in their own stadiums for the first time. As is always the case with baseball, there are a number of intriguing betting angles for us to attack.
Today's Best MLB Same Game Parlays
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
New York Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles and Yankees have split the series and will conclude tonight with the rubber match.
Baltimore's bats have been incredible to start the season and are fifth in wOBA and home runs. The future is coming through, with Adley Rutschman batting .313 and Jorge Mateo at .350.
Tyler Wells will get his first start and second appearance of the season. Wells is not an overpowering pitcher; instead, he will try to get his opponent to hit under the ball to induce the weak pop-up.
The Yankees' power bats are producing early, and they have the fourth-most home runs and are eighth in hard-hit percentage. Fans had been disappointed in Gleybar Torres in previous years, but he had a resurgence in 2022 and is continuing that this season by batting .417 with three home runs.
Nestor Cortez is coming off a win in the first start and transitioning well from a stellar 2022 season. Cortez's power pitching has been very effective against the O's, with a 41% strikeout rate. He'll help propel the Yanks to a win.
Parlay Odds: +692
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Milwaukee Brewers
Jake Woodward was a victim of the long ball in his last matchup, and he allowed three home runs to the Braves, resulting in six earned.
The Brewers have been excelling through the start of the season and have come in winning six straight. They have been great on offense and have put up six or more runs in four of their last five and. the pitching staff already has four shutouts.
Freddy Peralta will take the bump and pitched scoreless in his first start against the Mets.
Wilson Contreras, Nolan Arenado, and Paul Goldschmidt have great numbers off of him. If he can survive the heart of the Cardinals lineup, he could have another effective outing.
Parlay Odds: +465
Oakland Athletics vs. Tampa Bay Rays
The Rays remain the last undefeated team in the league. The offense has been good, but for years this team has been built on power pitching, and they are starting the season second in ERA and third in FIP.
Drew Rasmussen is part of that excellent rotation. He continued that incredible momentum from last year and pitched six scoreless innings, and allowed two hits against the Nationals.
Yesterday showed the vast difference between how good a top team like the Rays and how bad the Athletes are. The pitching gave up 11 runs, and the lineup could only manage three total bases.
Expect another big and undefeated streak to continue for the Rays
Parlay Odds: +476
