Minnesota Twins vs. Kansas City Royals

  • Leg 1: UNDER 8.5 Total Runs (-118)
  • Leg 2: Max Kempler to record 2+ Total Bases (+115)
  • Leg 3: Twins -1.5  (+100)

After a disappointing 2022, the Twins were very busy in the offseason. They traded away Gio Urshela and Luis Arraez, brought in Christian Valaquez and Joey Gallo, and tried to revamp the inconsistent lineup from last year. Joe Ryan will take the mound coming off an excellent rookie campaign where he went 13-8 with a 3.55 ERA. Ryan dominated the Royals last year, going 4-0 with two shutout performances.

The Royals should again be in rebuilding mode with not much improvement from the team that finished last in 2022. Brad Keller will get the start and it was a rough 2022 for him. He went 6-14 with a 5.09 ERA and 0-3 against the Twins.

This is a game that will heavily favor the Twins, especially with this pitching matchup.

Detroit Tigers vs. Tampa Bay Rays

  • Leg 1: OVER 7.5 Total Runs (-105)
  • Leg 2: Jeffery Spring 6+ strikeouts (-160)
  • Leg 3: Rays -1.5  (-104)

It's been all Rays in this series so far, as they've outscored the Tiger 16-2 in the first two games. This will be another season where Tampa will be anchored by a great pitching staff which includes Jeffery Springs. The southpaw became a starter for the first time in his five-year career and was very successful as he finished last season with a career-best 2.48 ERA.

The Tigers went for it last year with some big free agent signings, but it was a disaster after finishing 30 games under .500. Joey Wentz was a September call-up last year and pitched very well, so they're hoping he can be a good piece in the middle of this rotation.

I like this pitching matchup, but as we're seeing, the Tigers' bats were struggling like last year.

Chicago White Sox vs. Houston Astros

  • Leg 1: OVER 8.5 Total Runs (-110)
  • Leg 2: Yordan Alvarez to record 2+ Total Bases (-115)
  • Leg 3: Yoan Moncada to record 2+ Total Bases (+135)

The White Sox had a highly disappointing 2022, with a roster that was expected to make a championship run, but instead finished at .500. The biggest notable change is the departure of Jose Abreu who signed with their opponent as a result brought in Andrew Benintendi. Mike Clevinger was another addition as he makes his return to the AL Central coming off a disappointing year with Padres going 7-7 with a 4.33 ERA.

Houston is having a solid start to the season winning three of the first four. This offense looks again to be one of the best in the league with Yordan Alvarez getting off to a great start, along with Jeremy Pena, and Jose Abreu’s revenge weekend has been great so far. Even with the departure of Justin Verlander,  the champs still have a solid rotation with a few guys who had a breakout 2022 seasons. One of those was Luis Garcia who had a career-high 15 wins with a 3.72 ERA.

Garcia’s only start last year against the White Sox wasn’t spectacular (5IP, 3ER) and Clevinger could have trouble against this lineup that’s already starting off well.
