The New York Yankees appear poised to make a run this season with the big addition of Juan Soto and the Orioles are shoring their confidence by calling up top prospect Jackson Holliday. Let’s take a look at our top Same-Game Parlays (SGPs) for Thursday’s small slate of games!

    Pittsburgh Pirates at Philadelphia Phillies

The Pirates will open up their series against the Phillies tonight in the battle of Pennsylvania. The rookie Jared Jones is on the mound for the Pirates, with Ranger Suarez getting the nod for the Phillies. The Pirates are coming off a disappointing loss to the Tigers where they gave up 4 runs in the 9th inning. After a needed day off, the Pirates will be looking to bounce back with a win to continue their hot start. On the other hand, Ranger Suarez is coming off a solid start against the Nationals, where he pitched six innings and picked up his first win of the season.

Bryan Reynolds has had an up-and-down start to the season but appears to have found his rhythm with three hits in his past two games. So far, he’s liking left-handed pitching and away games this season. Against lefties, he’s batting .412 with an OPS of 1.347. In road games, he’s batting a strong .323 with nine RBIs. I also like Connor Joe to get a base knock today. Joe has been a catalyst for this Pirates’ lineup as he’s been typically batting out of the leadoff spot. He comes into today’s game batting .324 including .346 in away games with nine runs scored. Look for Joe and Reynolds to deliver a single and RBI in a win today against the Phillies.

Baltimore Orioles at Boston Red Sox

The Orioles will face the Red Sox in Game 3 of this series at Fenway Park tonight. Grayson Rodriguez (2-0) will start for the O’s while Garrett Whitlock (1-0) will be on the hill for the Red Sox. Both of these pitchers have started out with wins, but this will be shaken up tonight. I believe Whitlock will have his hands full with this formidable Orioles lineup, as they have a plethora of lefties. The addition of Jackson Holliday will add another dimension to this team once he gets his footing in the big leagues.

After an 0-5 night in the series opener, I’m looking for Adley Rutschman to bounce back in a big way tonight. I like him to get on the board with an RBI and even possibly a homer at Fenway tonight, as he’s still looking for his first of the season.

Cedric Mullins will come through today with a single against the righty Whitlock. It’s been a slow start for Mullins, but with three hits in his past two games, he’s appeared to turn a corner. In addition, he loves righties, as he’s hitting .280 vs them this season.

Look for the Orioles to get after Whitlock today and the shaky Red Sox bullpen on their way to another win at Fenway.
