Tampa Bay Rays at Arizona Diamondbacks

The Rays will visit Arizona to decide the winner of this 3-game series against the Diamondbacks. It looks like Yonny Chirinos will be on the hill for the Rays as Brandon Pfaadt will look for his first win of the season for the Diamondbacks. After an 8-4 Diamondbacks win on Tuesday, the Rays won 3-2 last night in dramatic fashion in the 9th inning. Brandon Pfaadt has been struggling this year (0-2, 8.37 ERA), and I expect that to continue this afternoon against a disciplined Rays lineup. I like Wander Franco to break out today at the plate with a plus-matchup against the righty. With only one hit so far in the series, I expect him to have a hit or two, including a single and RBI batting in the heart of this Rays lineup.
Look for the Rays to jump on Pfaadt early and use their defense to close out this game.

Miami Marlins at Boston Red Sox

The Marlins will visit Boston as they look to sweep the Red Sox and extend their 4-game winning streak. Lefty Jesus Luzardo will be on the mound for the Marlins as Brayan Bello will look to improve on his solid month of June for the Red Sox. Luzardo threw seven shut-out innings in his last outing and looked sharp against the Pirates. The Red Sox will need to bring a disciplined approach to the plate. I’m encouraged by how righty Brayan Bello has looked this season, especially in his past two starts (13.2 innings pitched, 2 ER, 2 wins). I believe he puts together another good day in this game at home. I like Kike Hernandez and Adam Duvall to have a couple of singles with a plus-matchup against the Lefty Luzardo. Duvall is hitting .368 against left-handed pitchers this season.
Overall, I like the Red Sox to finally break through and avoid the 5-game losing streak behind Bello, Hernandez, and Duvall.
