MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Thursday (8/31)

It’s a four-pack of MLB games coming our way today to round out August.

Let's look at a few Same Game Parlay bets on tap for Thursday, Aug. 31’s small slate.

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Atlanta Braves vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Braves will visit Los Angeles in a potential NLCS matchup. The pitching matchup features two right-handed pitchers, with Spencer Strider throwing for the Braves and Lance Lynn on the hill for the Dodgers. I will be backing Spencer Strider tonight as he continues his impressive season (15-4, 3.46 ERA). He also has the best-hitting lineup in baseball behind him.

On the other side, Lance Lynn has been a solid pitcher for years, but his 2023 season has been up and down, and he’ll have a tough task keeping the Braves in check. A player I'm targeting on the Braves is the red-hot Matt Olson, who's been having an incredible season at the plate. Olson is batting .271 on the season vs. righties, including a 1.000 OPS. He sits in the heart of the batting order, which gives him plenty of opportunities today. I like Olson to continue his seven-game hitting streak with another hit today.

I also like the Braves to pull one out tonight behind their big hitters, and I think Strider does his part on the mound.

Parlay Odds: +550

New York Yankees vs. Detroit Tigers

The Yankees will visit the Tigers as they look to sweep the four-game series in Detroit. The pitching matchup features right-handers Clarke Schmidt for the Yankees and Matt Manning for the Tigers. I’m expecting a high-scoring game, as these pitchers have been prone to allowing runs over the season.

I'm looking for Aaron Judge to hit the ball hard today despite a bit of a slump recently. Singles have been hard to come by for Judge lately, but I think he gets one this afternoon against this Tigers pitching staff. I also like Riley Greene to break out of his mini-slump (.109 in the past 14 days) and have a base hit today against the righty with the potential for more. Greene’s batting .288 with an OPS of .827 against right-handed pitching this season.

I like these teams to keep adding runs with the potential for a high-scoring game in Detroit.

Parlay Odds: +625
