MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (4/2)

Yesterday, we faded Ronel Blanco, and he pitched a no-hitter. I don’t think it can get any worse than that!

So, I think that’s good news if you’re looking to tail today! Here are a couple of same-game parlays to consider for tonight’s MLB slate.

Los Angeles Angels @ Miami Marlins

The Miami Marlins are still looking for their first win of the season. This could be the one.

The Marlins are facing Tyler Anderson of the Angels. He’s a left-handed pitcher who didn’t fare too well last season. He allowed a .189 ISO and wOBA of .349 while allowing 10% of walks and only earning 18.9% of strikeouts. Anderson had an ERA of 5.43 last year and finished with a 1.49 WHIP.

Jake Burger is already 2-for-4 against Anderson in his career. Meanwhile, Josh Bell has struggled a little more against Anderson over the year through ten plate appearances. However, both have done very well against left-handed pitching dating back to last season.

Burger hit a .331 ISO and woBA of .391, while Bell smacked a .231 ISO and wOBA of .381. Both are solid plays against Anderson tonight.

On the other hand, Jesus Luzardo might’ve struck out 27.7% of batters last year, but he’s facing an Angels lineup with only two real targets. The rest of the Angels’ lineup struck out 22.4% of the time or less against lefties last season. Luzardo had eight strikeouts in his first start of the season through only five innings. But that’ll be hard to replicate against the Angels.

Toronto Blue Jays @ Houston Astros

I know Yordan Alvarez is just 1-for-10 against Jose Berrios in his career, but he’s still got a terrific matchup against him. After all, Berrios allowed a .185 ISO and wOBA of .336 to 412 lefties last season.

Berrios won against Tampa Bay after allowing six hits in six innings. He still gave up two runs, walked one, and finished with a WHIP of 1.17.

Meanwhile, Alvarez hit a .358 ISO and woBA of .453 against 345 righties last season. I’ll still take Alvarez in this spot every time.

I’ll also ride with Kyle Tucker, who is another lefty who smacked a .204 ISO and wOBA of .357 last season. He struck out just 15.3% of the time against righties last year.

However, I’m not sold on Framber Valdez of the Astros. The lefty pitcher only went 4.2 innings in his season debut and earned five strikeouts despite having a WHIP of 2.36.

The Blue Jays were just no-hit and will likely make adjustments so that doesn’t happen again. Toronto’s projected lineup struck out just 16.8% of the time against lefties last year. The same trend will develop this year.
