MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (4/25)

I’m not typically one to wager on SGPs, but there are plenty of options today with a full slate of 15 games on this Tuesday. I’d advise keeping these wagers at lower limits considering how difficult it is to piece together three different legs of a bet. As always, check out for the weather along with lineups if you plan on including a hitter in your parlay. Best of luck!

New York Yankees at Minnesota Twins

  • Leg 1: Nestor Cortes 6+ Strikeouts (-200)
  • Leg 2: Joe Ryan 7+ Strikeouts (-105)
  • Leg 3: Under 7.5 Runs (-180)

This game has pitchers’ duel written all over it. The Yankees’ bats have gone ice-cold over the last week or so, and they have the t5th worst wRC+ (54) against right-handed pitching. Now, they face Billy from Stranger Things who has been on a tear early on. Joe Ryan ranks in the top 87% in xERA/xwOBA, top 85% in K%, top 88% in BB%, and top 91% in ChaseRate. All of that is backed up by a 3.26 xFIP, and Ryan just manhandled the Yankees a little over ten days ago.

He hurled seven innings of one-run ball and allowed just three hits while striking out 10 Yankee batters. New York also has the t5th highest strikeout percentage (25.7%) versus righties on the young season, and we just saw Sonny Gray mow them down for eight punchouts across seven scoreless innings yesterday.

Toeing the rubber for the “Bronx Bombers” is Nestor Cortes who also just shut down the Twins not too long ago. He had seven strikeouts in seven innings and allowed just two earned runs against them on 4/13. The Twinkies have also been atrocious against Southpaws with the 6th worst wRC+ (76) and 4th highest strikeout rate (27.9%). All four lefty starters to face them (Patrick Corbin, Chris Sale, Nestor Cortes, and Jesus Luzardo) have recorded at least six strikeouts against them.

Combined Odds: +295

Seattle Mariners at Philadelphia Phillies

  • Leg 1: Mariners ML (-125)
  • Leg 2: Logan Gilbert 6+ Strikeouts (-165)
  • Leg 3: Phillies Under 4.5 Runs (-180)

A full fade of the Phillies at home comes down to how well Logan Gilbert has pitched to begin the season. He has a 2.92 xFIP across 22 2/3 innings and ranks in the top 89% in xERA/xwOBA and the top 86% in strikeout rate. Gilbert has recorded six or more strikeouts in all four starts this year and the Phillies have the 10th-highest strikeout percentage against righties.

They have been held to under 4.5 runs in four of their last six games, and once Gilbert leaves the game, the Mariners’ bullpen should keep them at bay. Despite having Andres Munoz on the IL, they still possess one of the more reliable pens in the game. Seattle hasn’t been the hottest with their bats so far, but Bailey Falter should help them out there. He has a 4.59 xFIP and the Phillies have lost in three of his four starts.

Combined Odds: +195

Detroit Tigers at Milwaukee Brewers

  • Leg 1: Brewers ML (-165)
  • Leg 2: Eric Lauer 6+ Strikeouts (-165)
  • Leg 3: Spencer Turnbull 5+ Hits Allowed (-130)

The final fade of the day comes for the Tigers who should be picked on throughout this year. They managed to eke out a win in the first game of the series, but the Brew Crew should get back on track to their winning ways today at home thanks to Spencer Turnbull. He has been rocked early on and has a 5.61 xFIP and ranks in the bottom 17% in xERA/xwOBA. The Brewers have the 9th-best wRC+ (110) against right-handed pitching and should do damage at American Family Field.

They have recorded at least five hits in seven of their last eight matchups against righty starters averaging 6.75 hits per game. Turnbull has also permitted five or more hits in three of his four starts this year, so look for him to get hit around like a pinata.

As for Eric Lauer, he draws a phenomenal matchup facing this Detroit lineup. The Tigers have the worst wRC+ (58) and 3rd highest strikeout rate (29.7%) against lefties. Four of the five southpaws to face them have had six punchouts or more, averaging 7.6 per game. Lauer has not looked his sharpest to begin the year, but the Tigers could be the antidote to get him back on track.

Combined Odds: +290
