MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (4/4)

The new rules in the MLB have changed the pace of play. Games are moving quicker, there’s more action, and it’s been more exciting.

Today, we’ve got a couple of afternoon games on the slate. But we’ve also got plenty of games on in the night. Get used to it.

Here are a couple of same-game parlays for tonight’s MLB action.

Tuesday’s Best MLB Same Game Parlay Bets

Cincinnati Reds vs. Chicago Cubs

  • Leg 1: Dansby Swanson Over 1.5 Total Bases (-130)
  • Leg 2: Trey Mancini Over 1.5 Total Bases (+100)
  • Leg 3: Patrick Wisdom Over .5 Hits (-170) 

I’m fading Luis Cessa tonight.

Cessa finished last year with a 4.96 xFIP. He struck out under 18% of batters and gave up nearly 44% of hard contact when balls were put into play.

He was fine against lefties. Cessa allowed a .137 ISO against 160 batters. But righties hit a wOBA of .346 with an ISO of .234 in 176 plate appearances against Cessa.

So I’ll attack with some right-handed sluggers on the Cubs. Dansby Swanson has hit an ISO of .166 with a wOBA of .317 dating back to last year against righties. Trey Mancini has hit a .161 ISO and wOBA of .308 against his last 422 righties faced.

Finally, Patrick Wisdom has the most pop from a righty in this lineup. He’s hit a .189 ISO with a wOBA of .287 against righties.

The Cubs’ offense should have a field day, especially those batting from the right side.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Boston Red Sox

  • Leg 1: ONeil Cruz Over 1.5 Total Bases (-105)
  • Leg 2: Jack Suwinski Over 1.5 Total Bases (+130)
  • Leg 3: Ji-hwan Bae Over .5 Hits (-155)

The Red Sox will send Nick Pivetta to the mound for tonight’s game against the Pirates. Pivetta had a 5.04 xFIP last season after giving up a high wOBA and ISO to lefties. Lefties hit a wOBA of .343 with an ISO of .199 in 308 plate appearances against Pivetta last season.

So let’s stack the lefties in the Pirates’ order. ONeil Cruz hit a .248 ISO and wOBA of .354 dating back to last year against righties. He’s got serious pop against righties as a left-handed batter.

Meanwhile, Jack Suwinski has a ton of pop against righties, hitting a .229 ISO and a wOBA of .344 against righties in his last 260 plate appearances.

In 29 plate appearances, Ji-hwan Bae had a wOBA of .438 against righties dating back to last year. He’s a strong line-drive hitter who can easily earn one hit against Pivetta.
