MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (10/4)

After a thrilling first day of Postseason baseball that saw the Twins win their first playoff game since 2004, we are back to do it all over again today. The Rays, Brewers, Marlins, and Blue Jays are all on the brink of elimination. It should be a fun day of baseball, with the first game once again at 3 pm ET.

    Wednesday’s Best Same Game Parlays

Texas Rangers at Tampa Bay Rays

    Rays -1.5 Runs (+135) and o5.5 Runs (+190)

The Rays played an extremely sloppy game yesterday, making four errors in the loss. This matchup features two of the league’s best offenses this season, and despite the Rays’ injuries, I think they still have an edge in this one. Zach Eflin had a magical season for the Rays and has allowed three runs or fewer in his last eight starts. After a fantastic start, Nathan Eovaldi cooled off in the second half as injuries sort of derailed his season. After returning from injury, he allowed four or more runs in three of the six starts, including totals of five and seven in his last two. He has shown Postseason success in the past, but I believe that the edge goes to Eflin by a lot in this one.

    Josh Lowe 2+ TBs (+135)

Josh Lowe has had a breakout season with a 131 wRC+ and an ISO over 0.200. He is becoming one of the most valuable players on the Rays, and with their season on the brink of elimination, he should be a huge part of their offense.

    Combined Odds: +500

    Arizona Diamondbacks at Milwaukee Brewers

    Brewers -1.5 Runs (+155) and o4.5 (+140)

The Brewers lost Game 1, a game in which they sent their ace to the mound and seemingly will not have the pitching matchup in their favor across the remainder of the series. However, I believe the deficit is smaller than anticipated in this one. Freddy Peralta is fantastic, and his final start of the season, notwithstanding, had allowed three or fewer runs in his previous 10 outings. Zac Gallen has been excellent all season but has had a few blow-ups with four games, allowing four or more runs in his last seven starts. The Brewers had a bunch of opportunities yesterday and just could not cash in, and I expect them to succeed today and put those runs across the board.

    Sal Frelick 2+ TBs (+145)

The rookie had a solid MLB debut with a wRC+ slightly below 100 at 92. His power isn’t quite there, but he makes a ton of contact and has a ton of speed, which should give him a reasonable chance to hit this over.

    Combined Odds: +475

    Miami Marlins at Philadelphia Phillies

    Marlins ML (+130) and o4.5 Runs (+155)

Braxton Garrett is one of the best stories of the MLB season and is a huge part of the reason the Marlins are in the playoffs this season. Garrett has allowed fewer than four runs in ten of his last eleven starts and has consistently managed to put the Marlins in position to win every game he starts. With their season on the brink of ending, he is the perfect person to lead them to victory. Despite a strong finish to the season, Aaron Nola struggled in 2023 with an ERA of 4.46, mostly due to allowing far too many homers. The Marlins’ offense is not necessarily elite, but they have several hitters with enough pop to take advantage of the struggles.

    Jazz Chisholm 2+ TBs (+175)

Jazz is easily one of the best hitters in this Marlins’ offense, and his total base number is way higher than I would expect it to be. He has legitimate power and should be able to take advantage of any struggles that Nola may have.

    Combined Odds: +530
