MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (4/26)

Full slate of games for today with the earliest among them beginning at 12:35 PM ET. I have noticed that I have been successfully betting SGPs leading with an offense I think will score a decent number of runs, including them on on the moneyline, their team over, and one of my favorite hitters on the team. Let’s go back to this well for today’s bets.

Chicago White Sox at Toronto Blue Jays

  • Leg 1: Toronto Blue Jays -1.5 (+115)
  • Leg 2: Toronto Blue Jays OVER 5.5 (+110)
  • Leg 3: Dalton Varsho 2+ Total Bases (+155)

Going with my theme in the lede, the Blue Jays are one of my favorite teams on the board today. Their offense is elite and they get to face a struggling pitcher in Michael Kopech. The White Sox offense is good on paper but they have struggled to begin the season. Yusei Kikuchi should do just enough here to limit scoring.

Kopech has struggled with the long ball early in 2023 and I believe that this trend will continue. The Blue Jays have a powerful offense with a number of elite power hitters. Their home park is also becoming even more HR-friendly. This all sets up poorly for Kopech.

Varsho has gotten off to a bit of a rough start in his new lineup but one thing he does do well is hit for power. Facing someone like Kopech who has struggled might be exactly what he needs to get back on track. I would also bet his HR bet if you want to improve the odds of this SGP.

New York Yankees at Minnesota Twins

  • Leg 1: Yankees ML (+100)
  • Leg 2: Yankees OVER 4.5 Runs (+140)
  • Leg 3: Anthony Rizzo 2+ Total Bases (+145)

The Yankees’ offense has been in a free fall of late. The bottom third of their order is truly struggling and their elite hitters are not doing nearly enough to carry the stragglers. However, this has all the makings of a get-right spot. Maeda has limited walks but has been beaten by HRs early in the season. I believe that the Yankees’ heart of the order gets back on track today.

For the Yankees, Domingo German gets the ball and while his numbers do not jump off the page he has made some improvements. He has increased his Ks significantly and while the change has come with an increase in walks and homers, there’s a really intriguing skillset here. He has enough skill to limit this Twins offense.

This is a bet against Maeda as his homer issues are likely to come back in this one. Rizzo has been the best Yankee power hitter in the first part of the season, even better than his record-setting teammate Aaron Judge. While it’s early, Rizzo is slugging over 0.500 and has a wRC+ of 150. This is a great matchup for him.

Miami Marlins at Atlanta Braves

  • Leg 1: Miami ML (+130)
  • Leg 2: Miami Marlins Total Runs OVER 5.5 (+245)
  • Leg 3: Jazz Chisholm Jr. OVER 0.5 HRs (+450)

After taking things a bit more conservatively with these first two, let’s get a bit weird with one. The Marlins are starting Sandy Alcantara and while he has struggled to begin the season he is still one of the best pitchers in all of baseball. The Braves have an elite offense but I have faith that Alcantara can help to limit them long enough for the Marlins strong pen to take over.

The 5.5 runs are a tough bar to reach, but I believe that Bryce Elder is due for regression. Elder has not allowed a home run yet and has an 86% LOB rate. The K-numbers are decent but nothing he is doing really wows me enough to believe that he can’t have the blow-up game so many other pitchers have had this season.

If the Marlins are going to score a big number of runs, Chisholm is going to be at the center of it. Jazz has an insanely high K% and has not shown the same level of pure power has in previous seasons but he is still one of the more exciting and better young players in the league.
