Toronto Blue Jays @ Houston Astros

It feels risky writing this SGP out with three plus-odds props, but honestly, as far as SGPs go, this feels like a safer option. Chris Bassist did not look great in his first outing and wasn’t exactly stellar in Spring Training. After a 1-5 start to the season, I will be continuing to buy back Astros stock until they reach the .500 mark, and I feel like that’s a pretty safe bet.

Yordan Alvarez has seen Bassitt plenty with four home runs in 17 plate appearances. That alone gives me confidence in two of the three legs.

For the third one, Cristian Javier has kept the Blue Jays sluggers at bay, with George Springer and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. both hitless in their career against the Astros starter. Hopefully, this is an easy 6-2 win for Houston with Alvarez having a big day. If you’re feeling riskier, you can up the Astros’ run line spread or maybe just go for an Alvarez home run for that extra spice.

Parlay Odds: +525

Colorado Rockies @ Chicago Cubs

After last night’s drubbing, it’s easy to go back to the well with the Cubs’ offensive dominance on display. It will be cold and wet tonight, but it was last night, and that didn’t seem to stop Chicago one bit.

Nico Hoerner is 4-for-5 lifetime against Cal Quantrill, so look out for a multi-hit game for the Cubs’ infielder. Quantrill has been on a steady decline, with a 5.24 ERA last year, so I can see the rest of the Cubs lineup teeing off again.

The Rockies’ offense desperately needs a bounce-back spot, and while I don’t expect a three-homer day out of Colorado, they should be able to put some runs on the board to push the total over, but not enough to cover the alternate spread. Chicago should cruise to an 8-3 victory.

Parlay Odds: +675

San Francisco Giants @ Los Angeles Dodgers

This one is a bit wonky, but I expect a pitcher’s duel between Tyler Glasnow and Kyle Harrison as the Dodgers win 3-2. Harrison has been supreme against Los Angeles’ lineup, holding Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman to a combined 0-for-12 lifetime. That’s extremely rare. He had a solid first outing, and I like the idea of zagging against such a powered lineup sometimes.

Even if the Dodgers score five runs, Glasnow could mow down the Giants, which I’m expecting him to do to some extent. In his third start of the season, hopefully, the Dodgers’ hurler will have a bit higher pitch count to work with and reach double-digit Ks.

Parlay Odds: +750
