Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook

Houston Astros at St Louis Cardinals

Leg 1: Astros ML (+100)
Leg 2: Astros 05.5 Runs (+170)

While the Astros have certainly been a disappointment thus far, the Cardinals have been even worse. Christian Javier is coming off his worst start as a pro and should be able to get himself back on track. Miles Mikolas has allowed five-plus runs in two of his last four starts, and while this Astros lineup has not been clicking on all cylinders since losing Yordan Alvarez, they are still a dangerous lineup that you do not want to mess with. The Astros should not be underdogs in this game.

Leg 3: Jeremy Pena 2+ TBs (+120)

Because of their nature, it was tougher to find the TB bet to go with this one as a whole. However, Pena fits it perfectly, and while he has not quite lived up to the playoff performance hype, his 2023 is much like his 2022. He has power and speed and has been solid lately, even if it is only singles thus far. This seems like a great spot for him to start finding a multi-hit day or some extra bases using his speed.

Combined Odds: +400

Philadelphia Phillies at Chicago Cubs

Leg 1: Cubs ML (+105)
Leg 2: o4.5 Runs (+155)

This is mostly a bet on the Cubs’ pitching holding it down and the offense doing just enough for us to get the win. The Phillies’ offense has struggled against lefties this season with a 91 wRC+ which is the 25th-best in the league. Drew Smyly has struggled a bit lately, but we are making the bet that he is able to get himself back on track and keep this Phillies’ offense down. Aaron Nola has actually been similar to the rest of his career, but there are a few more homers than usual, and that has led to some bigger games than usual in his career.

Leg 3: Christopher Morel 2+ TBs (+180)

The odds on this one don’t line up with my expectations. Morel is one of the streakiest hitters in baseball, and his games tend to be all or nothing, but when he does make contact, it tends to be loud and damaging. This all lines up really well for him to do some damage in this one, and his ability to do so makes him an extremely attractive bet as part of his SGP.

Combined Odds: +500

Chicago White Sox at Los Angeles Angels

Leg 1: White Sox ML (+100)
Leg 2: White Sox o5.5 Runs (+185)

Jaime Barria has been excellent thus far in 2023 and has yet to allow more than four runs in a start yet. The White Sox offense is flawed but powerful, with a number of power hitters who have the ability to impact the game and put up a big total. The Angels’ offense is just as powerful, if not even more powerful, but Lucas Giolito has been excellent this season, limiting his walks compared to previous seasons. Home runs have been an issue for him, as they always have, but when he keeps the ball in the yard, he sets them up well for success.

Leg 3: Luis Robert 2+ TBs (+115)

While the White Sox have been rough as a team, Robert has been a bright spot with a 140 wRC+ with 22 homers. He has homered in three of his last four games and should be able to remain hot against Barria and help lead the White Sox to victory.

Combined Odds: +400
