MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (9/20)
All 30 teams have a game on the schedule today, and many teams are in full-blown clinch mode. Each win brings them one step closer to making the playoffs, and for others, each loss brings the end of the season closer. Letâs dive into the SGP streets and find our favorite games of the day.
Wednesdayâs MLB Best Same Game Parlay Bets
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Philadelphia Phillies at Atlanta Braves
- Leg 1: Phillies ML (+130)
- Leg 2: Over 4,5 Runs (+105)
- Leg 3: Brandon Marsh 2+ Total Bases (+155)
In simple terms, Aaron Nola has struggled in the 2023 season. He is allowing way too many homers, which is not a great trend when you are about to face this Bravesâ offense. Still, Nola is far too talented to struggle to this extreme. He is a much better pitcher than Bravesâ starter Bryce Elder, no matter what the full-season numbers look like. After an All-Star first half, Elder has an ERA up over 4.0 in the second half, much more in line with his ERA estimators. The Bravesâ offense is as good as they come, but the Phillies are not far behind. They should be able to clear this bar rather easily.
You could reasonably go with any Phillies batter here, but letâs take the longer odds with Brandon Marsh. This season, he has a 125 wRC+ and a .172 ISO, showing that he has power. These numbers are even better against righties, making this a great bet.
Parlay Odds: +1102
Boston Red Sox at Texas Rangers
- Leg 1: Red Sox ML (+115)
- Leg 2: Over 4,5 Runs (+110)
- Leg 3: Masataka Yoshida 2+ Total Bases (+135)
The Rangers are still fighting for that last playoff spot and, after some massive struggles down the stretch, have managed to steady the ship a bit. Today, they face Brayan Bello, who I believe to be one of the better young arms in baseball. I have detailed him before, but essentially, he just needs to unlock a bit more swing and miss, and he could find himself in the ace conversation. The Red Sox offense has more punch than we often like to give it credit for, and as a result, I think they will be able to take advantage of the times Jon Gray struggles to throw strikes.
Masataka Yoshida has been a bit of a mixed bag for the Red Sox in his rookie season. The AVG and OBP are solid, but his power has just been average to slightly below and he is a liability defensively. However, he does look like an everyday player who makes a ton of contact and those types pop off at times. I like him to hit his over here today, likely with a few knocks versus one big blast.
Parlay Odds: +961
Pittsburgh Pirates at Chicago Cubs
- Leg 1: Pirates ML (+140)
- Leg 2: Over 4.5 Runs (+155)
- Leg 3: Miguel Andujar 2+ Total Bases (+145)
Outside of a couple of massive blowups in the last 10 starts, Mitch Keller has been excellent in that span. The Cubs still have something to play for as they push for the playoffs, but Keller is talented enough to keep their offense off the board long enough to put the Pirates in a position to win. Justin Steele is a legit CY Young contender and will likely finish as high as second place this season. He is coming off his worst start of the season last time out. He has become an ace, and this Piratesâ offense does not really scare anyone, yet they have enough pieces to put up a big day and spoil Steeleâs day.
Miguel Andujar has never been the biggest of power hitters, but he does have a 0.185 ISO in his career versus lefties. One thing he has always done well is make a ton of contact, which makes him a great bet for this TB prop. All we need from him is one ball to find a gap.
Parlay Odds: +1399
