MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (9/7)

We did it again! Last night, we nailed a +596 winner in the Miami and Phillies game. We’ve hit a long-shot Same-Game Parlay in three of the previous four articles dating back to last week.

If you haven’t followed along, I suggest reviewing my favorite same-game parlays for today’s slate in the MLB. Let’s keep the momentum going!

Atlanta Braves vs. Oakland Athletics

  • Leg 1: Spencer Strider Over 8.5 K’s (+108)
  • Leg 2: Austin Riley 2+ Total Bases (+108)
  • Leg 3: Vaughn Grissom 1+ Hit (-250)

The Braves could end up in first place in the NL East today. With Spencer Strider on the mound, the Braves must feel confident.

Strider has a 2.72 xFIP in the last 30 days and has struck out 38.3% of batters in that same time frame. Meanwhile, the Athletics have struck out 24.4% of the time against righties using their projected lineup in the last month. Strider is looking to lock up the NL Rookie of the Year award. A big game against Oakland is expected.

On the other hand, rookie pitcher and top prospect Ken Waldichuk will take the mound for the A’s. He’s struggled a bit against righties, giving up a .371 wOBA and ISO of .176. Therefore, I’ll grab a couple of right-handed bats against the lefty in this parlay.

Austin Riley is hitting a .429 ISO with a wOBA of .566 against his last 18 lefties. Then there’s Vaughn Grissom, hitting a .200 ISO with a wOBA of .378.

The heart of the order for the Braves should succeed, and those two guys will be a part of it.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Francisco Giants

  • Leg 1: Clayton Kershaw Over 6.5 K’s (+124)
  • Leg 2: Alex Cobb Over 4.5 K’s (-128)
  • Leg 3: Under 8.5 (-112)

It took some time for Clayton Kershaw to settle for the Dodgers last week. Kershaw should be back on track with a game under his belt and off the injured list.

He’s facing a Giants lineup with seven batters striking out at least 21.9% of the time against lefties in the last month. Combined, the Giants have struck out 23.2% of the time against lefties in the last 30 days.

On the other hand, Alex Cobb will get the call for the Giants. He’s struck out 24.4% of batters in the last 30 days. He’ll pitch against a Dodgers lineup that has struck out 22.7% of the time against righties. The bottom portion of the order is sometimes automatic with their strikeouts between Max Muncy, Joey Gallo, Chris Taylor, and Cody Bellinger.

Cobb has a 3.06 xFIP, limits walks, earns a bunch of ground balls, and keeps line drives down when balls are batted into play.

He should have a solid game tonight against the Dodgers. I’ll also add the under into this parlay.

Texas Rangers vs. Houston Astros

  • Leg 1: Jose Altuve 2+ Hits (+195)
  • Leg 2: Alex Bregman 1+ Hit (-200)
  • Leg 3: Yuli Gurriel 1+ Hit (-290)

The Houston Astros will take on Cole Ragans tonight. Ragans is a lefty with a 6.91 xFIP in the last 30 days. He’s also struck out just 10% of batters faced while also walking 10% of batters faced.

Righties have a .436 wOBA and ISO of .395 against Ragans in his last 49 plate appearances. That’s why I’ve stacked righties in this Same-Game Parlay against Ragans.

Jose Altuve will lead off the game for the Astros. He has a .250 ISO with a wOBA of .424. He’s also limited strikeouts against lefties in his last 34 plate appearances.

On the other hand, Alex Bregman is hitting a .375 ISO and wOBA of .512 against lefties. He’s also hit 27.8% of line drives when balls are batted into play against lefties. Lastly, Yuli Gurriel has hit 37.5% of line drives with just 3.3% of strikeouts against his last 30 lefties. He’ll put the ball in play going up against Ragans.

We’ll just need two hits from Altuve and one from Bregman and Gurriel. This is doable!
