Los Angeles Angels at Washington Nationals
- Leg 1: Over 9.5 Runs (+100)
- Leg 2: Angels Over 4.5 Runs (-105)
- Leg 3: Patrick Corbin Over 3.5 Earned Runs Allowed (+125)
The Angels are playing well at the moment. They come into Saturday having won four of their six games, including series wins against the Mets and Yankees. This doesn't mean they will make any historical comeback, but they could play spoiler towards the end of the year.
The hitting and pitching have been great in this span, as they are averaging 4.8 runs per game and have a 3.29 ERA in this six-game span.
We haven't seen any consistency from Griffin Canning, as he's put together just one instance of back-to-back quality starts. He's coming off allowing one earned run to the Mets but allowed six at home to the Rockies before that.
The National League Wild Card has most of the teams in contention; unfortunately, Washington is not one of them. The team continues to be on a rough patch, having dropped four of its last eight.
The offense has been solid as they're batting .274 and have scored, but the pitching has been brutal with a 6.27 ERA.
Patrick Corbin has contributed to this, as he continues to be one of the worst pitchers in the league. After allowing 10 earned against the Diamondbacks, he was better and allowed four earned in a loss to the Giants.
Parlay Odds: +779
Chicago Cubs at Chicago White Sox
If the Cubs want a shot at the playoffs, they will have to look to the Wild Card race because the Brewers are playing well and running away with the National League Central. Although they sold off some pieces during the trade deadline, they've won seven of their last nine games.
Both the offense and pitching have been phenomenal during this time, and have a +24 score differential in that nine-game span.
Justin Steele has hit a bit of a regression this season, but with a 3.33 ERA, that's still great. He's pitching well. In his last six starts, he pitched six innings and allowed two or fewer runs in three.
It's interesting that the White Sox finally decided to fire Pedro Grifol because the season is almost over and they are still on track to be one of the worst teams of all time. Unfortunately for Chicago, Grady Sizemore hasn't helped, as they've dropped back-to-back games after snapping their 21-game losing streak.
Just like the team, Chris Flexen is on an awful run as the team has lost his last 16 starts. Flexen is 0-8 with a 6.09 ERA in that span.
Parlay Odds: +668
