New York Yankees at Detroit Tigers
The Yankees have a great opportunity at some wins as they have a favorable upcoming schedule. They just came off a series with the White Sox. After the Tigers, they face the Guardians, Rockies, Nationals, Cardinals, Rangers and Cubs; all but one are below .500 teams.
Thankfully, the offense has been helping this team recently because the pitching hasn't. They are coming in today 24th in ERA since July 17th.
Carlos Rodon might help after an up-and-down season. After the Yankees lost six straight of his starts, they have won the last four, and he has a 2.22 ERA.
It was expected that the Tigers would have trouble against Gerrit Cole, but they couldn't get any runs against a bullpen that hasn't been good the last couple of months. Maybe it isn't surprising when you see the offense, as they are 21st in runs scored.
As this team plans for the future, they'll look at their prospects. That includes Keider Montero, who has been getting a chance in the rotation over the last two months. However, it has not returned positive results lately. He has a 6.48 ERA over his previous six starts, with the only quality start being against a bottom-tier Mariners lineup.

Kansas City Royals at Cincinnati Reds
- Leg 1: Bobby Witt Jr. 1+ RBI (+105)
- Leg 2: Royals Moneyline (+110)
- Leg 3: Nick Lodolo Over 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-125)
The American League Central is a tight race, with the Royals five games out. The good news is that they currently hold the last Wild Card spot, but at only 2.5 games up, they will need a good few weeks if they want to play in October.
Their roster isn't the best, but they have talent on offense and pitching that they can lean on in big moments. The easy one to point out is Bobby Witt Jr., who is having a phenomenal season. He leads the league in batting average but also has the third-best OPS and is fourth-best in RBI.
Is there a chance Michael Wacha could play for the same team two years in a row? He's significantly improved after a rough start to the year. Over his last 13 starts, he's 7-2 with a 2.56 ERA.
The Reds have a slim chance of winning the National League Central as the Brewers have pulled away in the division. There is still opportunity in the Wild Card as they are only four games behind, but there are five teams within five games, so they'll have a lot of competition.
Their four-game winning streak was snapped on Friday. The problem has been that when the Reds lose, they tend to go on a losing streak.
Nick Lodoloâs great start to the year was marred by a 5.87 ERA in his last seven starts in July.
Surprisingly, the Royals are the underdog and are getting plus-odds. This just means a better return when you take Kansas City.
