Pittsburgh Pirates at New York Yankees
- Leg 1: Under 7.5 Runs (-110)
- Leg 2: Paul Skenes 7+ Strikeouts (-120)
- Leg 3: Luis Gil Under 1.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-105)
The Yankees have locked up the American League East and a first-round bye as we head into the final weekend. In the first game of this series, they kept a few key players out of the lineup, including Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton. This was the game following the division win celebration so they should return to the lineup on Saturday.
Luis Gil will be a part of this playoff rotation as he's had a great year, returning from a year off due to Tommy John surgery. September was a great month for him; the Yankees won his last four starts, and opponents batted .192 during that span. He's already a heavy favorite for American League Rookie of the Year, and a solid performance could clinch that.
It looked promising for a playoff run after the first half for the Pirates as they finished 48-48. It all went downhill in the second half as they are currently 27-37, including an 8-19 August.
During the offseason, they will need to acquire some power, as they were 26th in slugging (.369) in the second half, and more arms, as they were 24th in ERA (4.66).
They don't need to worry about finding an ace because Paul Skenes is that guy. Like Gil, he is the current favorite to win the National League Rookie of the Year and needs a strong performance to get that award.
Both pitchers should have their best, and we should expect a low score.

Philadelphia Phillies at Washington Nationals
- Leg 1: Over 7.5 Runs (-115)
- Leg 2: Kyle Schwarber Over 1.5 Total Bases (+115)
- Leg 3: Zach Wheeler Under 4.5 Hits Allowed (-115)
The Phillies have locked up the NL East and a first-round bye. If having the best record in the NL is important to them, then they are only one game ahead of the Dodgers.
They are prepared for another playoff run after being so close to a title in 2022, and they have a roster that can beat you with the bats and the arms.
Zach Wheeler will be one of those arms they rely on. He is third with 16 wins, a 256 ERA, and a 0.96 WHIP, and if it wasn't for Chris Sale's amazing season, he could have a Cy Young.
It is another disappointing year for the Nationals as it will be their fourth consecutive year with 90+ losses, and they'll likely make a lot of changes in the offseason.
MacKenzie Gore could be part of the future as they have three more years of control, and his stats have improved every season.
Gore hasn't been great against Philly, while Wheeler has had two quality starts and earned a win against Washington.
