Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles

  • Leg 1: Orioles Moneyline (-142)
  • Leg 2: Over 9 Total Runs (-105)
  • Leg 3: Orioles Over 3.5 Runs (-125)

The Red Sox could pick up a big win today and an even bigger series win as they try to get back in the American League East division race. Boston has made a substantial comeback recently, going from 14 games out to six with a win.

The offense has been a big reason for this improvement. Since July 18th, they have been second in average (.285) and runs (161).

The pitching has been a little shaky, including Kutter Crawford, who is on a brutal run with a 9.75 ERA in his last five starts.

The Orioles started the season so well that they looked to be a serious candidate to get through the American League and into the fall classic. The second half of the season hasn't been as kind; they are 19-20 since July 2nd and dropped out of first place in the American League East. The good news is that no one else in that division was able to make any significant strides, so they only sit a game out of first.

The offense has some of the best power numbers in the league, leading in slugging percentage and home run rate, but the pitching has struggled at times, especially the bullpen.

One of the biggest surprises for this pitching staff is Albert Suarez. After not pitching in the MLB since 2017, he's been an important piece in this rotation with a 3.39 ERA. He is coming off back-to-back starts where he went at least five scoreless innings.

Parlay Odds: +499

New York Yankees at Detroit Tigers

  • Leg 1: Tigers Moneyline (-125)
  • Leg 2: Under 7.5 Total Runs (-108)
  • Leg 3: Tigers Over 3.5 Runs (-125)

The Yankees and Tigers will play in the rubber match, as they each have exchanged shutout wins. New York has played inconsistently for the last couple of months, but this is a time when they are pulling away in the American League East. Including this series and the last against the White Sox, five of their next six series are against teams under .500 (Rockies, Nationals, Cardinals, Rangers, Cubs).

Marcus Stroman has struggled in the second half of the season, but the Yankees have won consecutive starts by him since June 28th. They'll be trying to do that tonight.

Unlike Friday, the Tigers got to Carlos Rodon early after he had a few good starts coming into Saturday. The offense showed a rare offensive performance, as it's the first time they scored more than three runs in the last four games and the third time in their previous four.

There isn't anything to root for with Tigers except every fifth day when Tarik Skubal takes the mound. The American League Cy Young favorite already has a phenomenal performance against the Yankees where he went six innings and allowed two earned and struck out 12.

It will be tough for the Yankees coming off being shutout and now facing the best pitcher in the American League.

Parlay Odds: +524
