MLB Same Game Parlay Odds & Picks: Tuesday (8/27)

There are some excellent pitching matchups on tonight’s MLB slate, including the Houston-Philadelphia game between Justin Verlander and Aaron Nola.
We won’t attack that game with our same-game parlay strategy. However, two games have caught my attention. Here are a couple of same-game parlays to consider for tonight.

Detroit Tigers vs. Los Angeles Angels
- Leg 1: Kerry Carpenter Over 1.5 Total Bases (-115)
- Leg 2: Riley Greene Over 1.5 Total Bases (-115)
- Leg 3: Parker Meadows Over 1.5 Total Bases (-105)
The Los Angeles Angels will give Johnny Cueto another turn in the rotation. The right-handed veteran has thrown against 27 batters with the Angels. Of those 27 batters, he’s faced 16 lefties and has earned no strikeouts with a .312 ISO and a wOBA of .401.
Cueto has already watched those 16 lefties hit 50% of hard contact and earned just 2.1% of swinging strikes. Cueto’s best days are simply behind him.
Meanwhile, the Tigers are loaded with left-handed talent. Parker Meadows should lead things off. He’s hit a .233 ISO and a wOBA of .400 against his last 63 righties. Meadows also struck out only 17.5% of the time against righties.
Behind him will be Riley Greene. Greene is another lefty who has smashed a .211 ISO and a wOBA of .328 against his last 22 righties. He’s also hit 38.5% of line drives against righties over the previous month.
Finally, batting third is Kerry Carpenter. Again, he’s a lefty with power for the Tigers. He’s smacked a .394 ISO and a wOBA of .443 against his last 36 righties.
The Tigers can be inconsistent from time to time. However, these lefties at the top of the order have a great matchup against Cueto.

Atlanta Braves vs. Minnesota Twins
- Leg 1: Marcell Ozuna Over 1.5 Total Bases (-115)
- Leg 2: Orlando Arcia Over .5 Hits (-160)
- Leg 3: Jorge Soler Over 1.5 Total Bases (+120)
Throughout the season, Simeon Woods Richardson has struggled as a right-handed pitcher against other righties. This year, he’s allowed a .174 ISO and a wOBA of .311. However, righties have torched Woods Richardson in the last month with a .244 ISO and a wOBA of .381.
He’s allowed 29.4% of line drives and 35.3% of fly balls, with just 23.5% of ground balls induced over the last month against righties.
Therefore, let’s attack Woods Richardson with the red-hot Braves lineup.
Marcell Ozuna is a right-handed power bat who has slugged a .293 ISO and a wOBA of .432 against his last 88 righties. Jorge Soler is another right-handed batter who has launched a .222 ISO and a wOBA of .369 against his last 51 righties.
At the bottom of the batting order, Orlando Arcia has sneakily hit a .264 ISO and a wOBA of .341 against his last 79 righties.
Let’s count on the Atlanta righties to exploit Woods Richardson’s struggles.
