Minnesota Twins vs. Cleveland Guardians

The Minnesota Twins will send out Zebby Matthews for tonight’s game. Matthews is a right-handed pitcher who has allowed a .435 ISO and wOBA of .540 to his last 51 lefties. In addition, he’s given up 71.4% of hard contact to lefties and has allowed more than 31% of fly balls with below 35% of ground balls induced.

Meanwhile, he’ll face Kyle Manzardo of the Guardians, a lefty who has hit a .250 ISO and wOBA of .370 against his last 35 righties.

On the other hand, the Guardians will ride with Gavin Williams on the mound. Williams is also a right-hander, but he’s struggled more against righties throughout the season and in the last 30 days. Williams has allowed a .238 ISO and wOBA of .403 to his previous 50 righties while allowing 56.2% of hard contact. He’s also added just 20% of strikeouts.

Byron Buxton and Carlos Correa are right-handed batters coming off the injured list who have seen early success against other righties.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Miami Marlins

This is a straight fade of Bobby Miller, a right-hander pitcher on the Dodgers. Miller has lots of potential. But he just hasn’t figured it out this season. Instead, Miller has allowed a .277 ISO and wOBA of .411 to 245 batters this season. Over the last 30 days, he’s given up a .338 ISO and wOBA of .401. He’s been even worse over the previous month for the Dodgers.

In addition, he’s struggled against both sides of the plate but just a tad more against righties. Against his last 46 righties, Miller has allowed a .351 ISO and wOBA of .418. He’s also given up an 11.5% barrel percentage and has been a little bit lucky with a .227 BABIP. I’m not sure how long he’ll be able to keep that BABIP down with the stats he’s allowing right now.

Therefore, we’ll stack the righties in the Marlins lineup against Miller.

Connor Norby has added a .306 ISO and wOBA of .419 at the No. 2 spot in the order over the last month. Otto Lopez, batting fifth, has added a .206 ISO and wOBA of .420 against his last 70 righties. Lastly, Jonah Bride has knocked a .167 ISO and wOBA of .373 against his last 63 righties.

Chance it and stack the Marlins against the Dodgers! The numbers line up!
