MLB Same Game Parlay Odds & Picks for Wednesday, August 10 (2022)

We came extremely close to winning a couple of our Same-Game Parlays last night but fell just short. We made the right calls, between which pitchers to rely on and fade, but things just didn’t work out.

With plenty of games on throughout the entire day today, we’re going to try again!

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Milwaukee Brewers

  • Leg 1: Jeffery Springs Over 5.5 K’s (-110)
  • Leg 2: Brandon Woodruff Over 7.5 K’s (-110)
  • Leg 3: Andrew McCutchen 1+ Hit (-180)

If you like a pitcher’s duel, this is the parlay for you.

The Rays left-hander, Jeffery Springs, will take the hill against the Brewers. The Brewers have struck out 28.1% of the time against righties in the last 30 days. On the other hand, Springs has struck out 19.7% of batters faced in that same time frame. Ultimately, you’d like to think that Springs will be in the game for a longer period of time, knowing the Brewers’ projected lineup has hit just a .063 ISO and wOBA of .269 against lefties in the last month.

The only batter that has consistently done damage to lefties in the Brewers lineup is Andrew McCutchen. He’s struck out 29.6% of the time in his last 27 plate appearances against lefties but also has a .273 ISO and wOBA of .416. If anyone is getting a hit today for the Brewers, it’ll be McCutchen.

On the other hand, Brandon Woodruff has struck out 23.3% of batters faced in the last 30 days. He’ll take on a Rays lineup that has struck out 27.7% of the time against righties. He’ll get his, just like Springs.

San Francisco Giants vs. San Diego Padres

  • Leg 1: J.D. Davis 2+ Total Bases (+150)
  • Leg 2: Wilmer Flores 1+ Hit (-210)
  • Leg 3: Thairo Estrada 1+Hit (-180)

Sean Manaea will take the hill for the Padres, coming off a terrible outing in his last go-around against the Dodgers. He’s allowed a wOBA of .386 to his last 92 righties with an ISO of .268. That’s a strong sample size to prove just how bad he’s been against righties recently.

Since being traded to the Giants, J.D. Davis has started to turn things around against left-handed pitching. Against his last 24 lefties faced, he’s hitting a .409 ISO with a wOBA of .408. Meanwhile, Wilmer Flores is hitting a .289 ISO and wOBA of .372 against his last 44 lefties while Thairo Estrada is hitting a .519 ISO with a wOBA of .513 against his last 28 lefties.

Back those Giants against Manaea today.

Texas Rangers vs. Houston Astros

  • Leg 1: Justin Verlander Over 7.5 K’s  (-128)
  • Leg 2: Alex Bregman 2+ Total Bases (+135)
  • Leg 3: Tray Mancini 2+ Total Bases (+125)

The Astros will be sending out Justin Verlander for tonight’s game. Currently, Verlander is fighting for another AL Cy Young. In the last 30 days, Verlander has had a 3.96 xFIP while striking out 29.3% of batters faced.

The Rangers, on the other hand, have struck out 24% of the time against righties with their projected lineup in the last 30 days. Verlander figures to go deep in this game and should ultimately earn many strikeouts.

On the other hand, Glenn Otto will take the hill for the Rangers. Otto has a 4.76 xFIP in the last 30 days and has struggled against righties, allowing a .392 wOBA and an ISO of .200 against his last 59 righties faced.

Alex Bregman has a .179 ISO with a wOBA of .362 against his last 61 righties and bats from the right side. Trey Mancini is also hitting an ISO of .235 against righties in his last 57 plate appearances and bats from the right side.

I’ll take my chances with those two righties against Otto.
