MLB Same Game Parlay Picks: Friday (Dodgers vs. Mets)

Friday’s MLB slate features two League Championship Series games. The New York Mets try to stave off elimination against the Los Angeles Dodgers, while the Cleveland Guardians look to even their series with the New York Yankees.

Last week, I successfully targeted an elimination game for my MLB Same Game Parlay (SGP), cashing everything up to +840. I will take a similar tact on Friday and target Game 5 of the National League Championship Series (NLCS).

Here is my SGP for that game.

Los Angeles Dodgers @ New York Mets

Dodgers starting pitcher Jack Flaherty had struggled recently entering the NLCS. In four starts leading up to last Sunday’s Game 1, Flaherty had allowed 14 earned runs over 19.1 innings. He did not strike out more than five batters in any of those games.

Flaherty was much better in Game 1, leading the Dodgers to a 9-0 victory. Flaherty pitched seven scoreless innings in that outing, allowing just two hits. And yet, he still went under this number, striking out six Mets. That is now six straight starts with six or fewer strikeouts for the Dodgers right-hander. Regardless of whether he pitches well or gets hit early, Flaherty will go under his strikeout number.

My next two legs involve base hit props. I am betting on Tommy Edman to record at least one hit, while I am betting against Tyrone Taylor to get one. Let’s start with Edman.

Edman has destroyed left-handed pitching this year, albeit in limited action. The Dodgers utilityman went 14-for-34 versus lefties during the regular season, with seven extra-base hits. And he has been even better during the postseason. Edman is 6-for-10 with two doubles in the playoffs against southpaws. He also has a hit in his lone plate appearances versus Mets starter David Peterson.

Tyrone Taylor went 0-for-2 against Flaherty in Game 1 and is now hitless in six career at-bats versus the Dodgers’ starter. What I like even more about this leg is that the Mets have pinch-hit for Taylor early in two of his three starts in this series after just two plate appearances. That should help us with this under. If you do not like fading Taylor, you can replace him with Francisco Alvarez for a similar payout.

Finally, I am picking both teams to combine for at least five runs. This is nothing more than a booster to get this SGP over the +400 threshold. In some respects, this leg makes me the most nervous because of how Los Angeles has pitched collectively over the past week. As an alternate, you can pick the Dodgers to score at least three runs. That would bump this SGP up to +445.

Parlay Odds: +415
