Friday’s Best MLB Sleeper Picks Player Predictions

PrizePicks this season: 85-67-9 | Sleeper Picks Playoffs: 15-12

Bryce Harper Over 0.5 Walks

This walk prop is the gift that keeps on giving. After two walks last night, Harper now has a 28% BB% in 39 plate appearances this postseason. He has found a free pass in seven of his nine playoff games and the Diamondbacks are clearly pitching around him. Of the 17 pitches he faced last night, only one was in the strike zone.

Cristopher Sánchez Under 4.5 Hits Allowed

More than anything this play comes down to usage. Cristopher Sanchez hasn’t started a game since the 24th of September and the Phillies have plenty of depth arms that can follow him. Michael Lorenzen, Taijuan Walker, and Gregory Soto have all been scarcely used this postseason, but this is the spot to do so. Manager Rob Thompson said this on Sanchez, “I don’t know how far we’re going to be able to go with him, but he’s been pitching very well and throwing strikes, and I have a lot of confidence in him.” That sounds like a turn through the order tops if you ask me, especially when they have Zack Wheeler ready to go on Saturday.

Sanchez is a really solid pitcher too. Pounding the zone primarily with his sinker and changeup, he ranked in the 98th percentile in CSW%, xFIP, and BG%, and was in the 95th percentile in WHIP and 81st in BABIP. In a three to four-inning start, with potential for even less than that, Sanchez should stay under this mark.

Yordan Alvarez Over 1.5 Hits, Runs, RBIs

Alright, I’m sick of being burned by the walk angle on Alvarez. He’s clearly up there to hit, even if he’s not getting many pitches in the zone. That really hasn’t been much of a problem for him though and he’s 13-31 with six homers, two doubles, 11 runs scored, and 13 RBIs in his eight playoff games. He has gone over this mark in seven of those games and should be able to do so once again.
