MLB To Hit A Home Run Odds, Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (9/13)

Who has a chance to go yard tonight in MLB, and what values are the books hanging out there for baseball bettors to take advantage of?

Here are my best bets to hit a home run today, Wednesday, Sept. 12.

Wednesday’s Best Player to Hit a Home Run Bets

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Austin Riley (+370) & Orlando Arcia (+650)

It’s hard not taking Matt Olson or Ronald Acuna Jr. when looking at HR Props from the Atlanta Braves. But it may be a good time to pivot off those two players when the Braves are facing a lefty. Plus, both Olson and Acuna Jr. hit an HR in last night’s game, and it’s not a great strategy to bet players to go long on back-to-back nights.

With that said, the Braves are facing lefty Cristopher Sanchez. Sanchez is 2-3 with a 3.26 ERA. He has allowed six home runs over his last six starts and has an HR/9 1.43, a bit higher than the league average.

Austin Riley is second on the team in HRs (nine) and has the fourth-best ISO (.273) against left-handed pitchers. Over his last 19 plate appearances against lefties, Riley has seven hits and two home runs.

Orlando Arcia may not be considered a “home run hitter,” but he smashes left-handed pitching. He has the highest SLG% (.701) on the Braves roster, is third in ISO (.367) and has the fourth most HRs (eight) against LHP.

Ryan Mountcastle (+475), Austin Hays (+600) & Adley Rutschman (+550)

When facing a left-handed pitcher, it’s tough to select just a few players from this Baltimore lineup to hit a HR. As a team, they have hit 48 HRs against lefties, 10th best in the MLB, but they are scattered throughout the lineup. They have nine players with at least three HRs; only Ryan Mountcastle sticks out like a sore thumb. Mountcastle has 12 HRs against lefties, twice as many as anyone else on the team.

Let’s see if a few different O’s go yard against rookie Drew Rom.

Aaron Judge (+235)

Aaron Judge is due for a long ball as he is in a nine-game homerless drought. Judge is 3-for-6 against Tanner Houck with three singles.

It’s not a surprise Judge leads the team in HRs (24) and ISO (.329) against righties this season; let’s see if he can hit one or two in the stands this afternoon.
