MLB To Hit A Home Run Odds, Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (9/20)
Here are our favorite players to hit a home run prop bets for Wednesday’s slate.
Austin Riley +425 / Marcell Ozuna +390 / Matt Olson +295
Including at least one Braves player in your HR Props is becoming mandatory. It’s like a cheat code.
Aaron Nola has faced the Braves twice this season, allowing three home runs over 12 innings. Braves hitters in 331 career at-bats against Nola have hit 18 home runs with a .254 average.
Both Austin Riley and Marcell Ozuna have already taken Nola yard once this year. Riley is 21 for 51 with five home runs against the Phillies starter.
Ronald Acuna Jr. is also a good option today; he has a .324 career average with four HRs against Nola. But I am not making it an official play since he hit two HRs in yesterday’s game.
Corey Seager +340
Corey Seager and the Rangers face off against Bayan Bello and the Red Sox. This is a matchup that suits Seager well. Bello has allowed 20 HRs this season, 11 of them being left-handed hitters, as well as 11 of them coming on the road.
While Seager has never hit an HR against Bello, he is 3 for 6 against him in his career, so it is nice that Seager has seen the ball well out of Bello’s hand. Being a left-handed hitter, it is no surprise that most of his HRs have come off right-handed pitching. Of Seager’s 31 HRs, 24 have been off RHP. Bello’s 15.3% HR/FB rate also helps Seager in this matchup.
The Rangers’ Shortstop is in a 5-game homerless drought; let’s see if Seager gets one tonight and jump-start the Rangers offense.
Bobby Witt Jr. +360
Guardian’s pitcher, Lucas Giolito, has given up 36 HRs in 2023, the third most amount qualified starter, trailing Jordan Lyles (38) and Lance Lynn (42)
Of the 36 HRs he has allowed, 20 have been to right-handed hitters. Witt is having an MVP-caliber season with the Royals, batting .277 with 29 HR, 90 RBI, and 48 stolen bases. Of his 29 HRs. 21 have been off right-handed pitching. Look for Witt to take advantage of a struggling pitcher like Giolito.
