MLB To Hit A Home Run Odds & Picks: Wednesday (Astros vs. Rangers)
There is nothing better than October baseball. And there is nothing more electrifying than hitting a towering HR in a playoff game.
With the two starting pitchers combining for 53 HRs allowed, we may see some fireworks tonight.

Wednesdayâs Best MLB Home Run Picks
Corey Seager +255 / Leody Taveras +650 / Evan Carter +500
Houston starter Christian Javier went 10-5 with a 4.56 ERA in the regular season. Over 31 starts, he allowed 25 HRs, at one point allowing at least one HR in nine straight starts. Of the 25 HRs he has allowed, 18 have come on the road.
Javier made one start against the Texas Rangers this season, lasting 4.1 innings while allowing eight runs on nine hits, including two home runs (Taveras, Jankowski).
Corey Seager has 20 at-bats against Christian Javier, the most on the Rangers roster, going 5 for 20 with two home runs. Seager has also been one of the hottest during the Rangers postseason run, batting .348 with three doubles and a home run.
As for Leody Taveras, he and Evan Carter have been the unsung heroes during this 7-0 postseason run.
Carter is batting .350 with four doubles, 1 HR, and 3 RBI.
Taveras is batting .348 with one double, triple, and a home run.
While the Rangers have not relied solely on the long ball during their historic start to the 2023 postseason, they arenât afraid to flex when needed, especially at home. Only the Atlanta Braves hit more home runs (151) at home than the Texas Rangers (143).
Yordan Alvarez +260
I donât know what to expect from Max Scherzer tonight, as he is making his first start since suffering a muscle strain in his shoulder. He could be as dominant as ever or get shelled from the first pitch.
What I do know is Yordan Alvarez is a monster. In six playoff games thus far, Alvarez has smashed six home runs, including two in game two of this series.
I also know that in a small sample size, Alvarez has owned Scherzer in the past. The Astrosâ slugger is batting .571 in seven at-bats with one home run.
As long as Yordan is in the lineup, I will take his HR Prop.
