Matt Olson (+255) & Eddie Rosario (+500)
The Braves cruised to an 11-3 victory against the Yankees last night. They'll send Bryce Elder to the bump tonight while New York counters with Luis Severino. First pitch is set for 7:20 p.m. ET from Yankee Stadium in Bronx, NY.
This is a dream matchup for home run props. Severino has been terrible this season, going just 2-7 while posting an 8.06 ERA and 1.88 WHIP. The right-hander has not been able to keep the ball in the yard, as his HR/9 rate sits at 2.54. That's the highest among starting pitchers today.
That will not bode well for Severino, as he's running into an Atlanta side that's crushing the ball this year. The Braves have launched a league-leading 229 tanks, which is 43 more than the next-closest team (Dodgers).
Atlanta has also found some success against Severino as they're slashing .256/.341/.538 against him over 39 at-bats. Specifically, Matt Olson is just 1-5 (.200) with a double. However, considering the year that he's having, I think he's a prime candidate to record his 44th bomb tonight. Additionally, Eddie Rosario is 3-7 (.429) against Severino with a home run and a double. He picked up his 17th homer last night, and I think he'll have a solid chance to hit another one in this spot. Let's ride with these two lefties at the hitter-friendly Yankee Stadium.
Joey Gallo (+280) & Carlos Correa (+400)
The Tigers and Twins open up a brief two-game set tonight. First pitch is set for 7:40 p.m. ET from Target Field, and we have a pitching matchup between Alex Faedo and Bailey Ober.
While most of the sports world is constantly throwing shade at the A.L. Central (and rightfully so), there have been a few positives to come out of the division. An example would be how the division-leading Twins have used the long ball to their advantage this year, smashing 164 home runs over 120 games. That's the seventh-most in the league. They'll take on Alex Faedo tonight, who is 2-4 with a 5.80 ERA and 1.07 WHIP.
Like the above-mentioned Severino, Faedo has failed to keep the ball in the yard. The right-hander owns a 2.01 HR/9 rate, which is the third-highest amongst today's starters. He has limited the Twins to a slash line of just .154/.241/.462 over 26 at-bats. But Joey Gallo and Carlos Correa are both 1-2 (.500) against Faedo with a home run. Let's back this sneakily powerful Twins team, specifically Gallo and Correa, to go deep in tonight's series opener.
