MLB To Hit a Home Run Player Prop Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (8/29)

The MLB playoff race is heating up, and we have a few intriguing matchups this evening. Those games include the Rays taking on the Marlins, the Astros squaring off against the Red Sox, and the Cubs hosting the Brewers.

Rather than try to pick a winner in each of those games, I'm taking it to the prop sheet, where I've narrowed in on a trio of players to hit home runs. Here are my top three Players to Hit Home Runs props for tonight's slate.

MLB YTD: 85-162 (-10.25 units)

Today's Best To Hit A Home Run Prop Bets

Matt Olson (+185) & Marcell Ozuna (+250

The Braves are cruising to a divisional title, and their excellence was on display Monday night. Atlanta smoked Colorado 14-4, pushing their N.L. East lead to 12.5 games over Philadelphia. Tonight's pitching matchup features a battle between Charlie Morton and Peter Lambert. First pitch is set for 8:40 p.m. E.T. from Coors Field in Denver, Co.

As you can tell from my record above, I'm in desperate need of cashing a home run prop bet. So, I feel no shame in taking a pair of sluggers from the top-ranked home run team (246) in the league. They're also playing in the most hitter-friendly park in baseball. I'm riding with both Matt Olson and Marcell Ozuna to go deep tonight.

Atlanta will face Peter Lambert, who is 3-4 with a 4.92 ERA and 1.33 WHIP. In terms of the head-to-head numbers, Ozuna is 1-3 (.333) against the right-hander with a home run. Olson is just 0-1 (.000), but we all know he's on a tear this season. 34 of his 43 big flies have come against RHP, and he boasts a 1.015 OPS against righties this year. Let's lock in this duo of power hitters against Lambert, who owns a 1.77 HR/9 rate.

Christian Walker (+350)

Los Angeles took care of business last night, defeating Arizona 7-4 at Chavez Ravine. The Dodgers will turn to Clayton Kershaw to keep things rolling while the Diamondbacks attempt to get back in the win column with Merrill Kelly. First pitch is set for 10:10 p.m. E.T. from Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, CA.

Kershaw has been arguably the most influential pitcher of the last 15 years. The southpaw has proved that to be true this year, as he owns a 2.52 ERA and 1.02 WHIP over 19 starts.

However, one man has been dubbed the "Kershaw Killer" over the years: Christian Walker. The hefty first baseman comes into this one at 10-33 (.303) against Kershaw with five home runs. He has already smacked 28 big flies and is always a prime candidate to go deep against Kershaw. I'll lock him in at +350 as he needs to propel this offense that's fighting tooth and nail for a playoff spot.
