MLB To Hit a Home Run Player Prop Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (9/12)
It's Tuesday, which means it's time for the MLB to take center stage again. The playoff race is heating up and we have a ton of great baseball on the horizon. From a betting standpoint, I'm looking at props tonight.
I've narrowed in on these three players to hit home runs:

Aaron Hicks (+650)
The Orioles earned an 11-5 victory in last night's series opener against the Cardinals. The two sides square off again tonight, and we have a pitching matchup between Adam Wainwright and John Means. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. ET from Camden Yards in Baltimore.
One of the big storylines entering this season was Wainwright collecting his 200th career win. Well, the veteran hurler has really hit a wall, as he's just 3-11 over 19 starts. The lack of wins has the right-hander stuck at 198. Frankly, he's been terrible this season, posting an 8.19 ERA and 1.98 WHIP. One of the reasons for his lousy campaign is that he's giving up too many home runs. âWainoâ owns a 2.02 HR/9 rate, which is tied for the fourth-highest amongst today's starters.
Baltimore's current lineup has seen Wainwright very well in his career, as they're slashing .340/.389/.620 over 50 at-bats. That includes Aaron Hicks, who is 4-5 (.800) with a home run. The outfielder is hitting .417 this month, and he launched one of his eight bombs on Saturday against the Red Sox. I think it's worth a shot with the sizable +650 payout.
Cody Bellinger (+425)
The Cubs picked up their second straight win last night, beating the Rockies 5-4 in the Mile High City. They'll turn to Javier Assad tonight while the Rockies opt for Chris Flexen. This National League contest is scheduled for 8:40 p.m. ET from Coors Field in Denver.
Like Wainwright, Flexen has been atrocious this season, as well. The right-hander enters tonight's game with a 7.36 ERA and 1.74 WHIP. His 2.57 HR/9 rate is the highest amongst today's starting pitchers.
So, I'll play Cody Bellinger to hit a nuke at the hitter-friendly Coors Field tonight. The center fielder has propelled this Chicago offense, as he leads the way in average (.317), home runs (25) and RBI (89). He's a perfect 2-2 (1.000) against Flexen with a pair of singles. Maybe he can lift one out at the high altitude. With the Cubs slashing .611/.650/.667 against Flexen over 18 at-bats, it might be time to take a look at Chicago on the run line in this spot, as well.
Fernando Tatis Jr. (+320)
In Los Angeles, the Padres are amid a three-game set with the Dodgers. San Diego took game one last night in an 11-8 barnburner. First pitch for game two is scheduled for 10:10 p.m. ET, featuring a pitching matchup between Michael Wacha and Lance Lynn.
Lynn is another pitcher that hasn't been able to find his footing this season. The burley right-hander comes into tonight's game at 10-11 and owns a 6.09 ERA and 1.42 WHIP. Lynn has been susceptible to the long ball, allowing an average of 2.25 home runs per nine innings. That's the third-highest of the starters today.
Lynn has decent numbers against San Diego, limiting the club to a slash line of .233/.283/.372 over 86 at-bats. However, he has allowed three big flies, one each to Ha-Seong Kim, Jurickson Profar and Fernando Tatis Jr. I will take a shot with Tatis Jr., who is 2-7 (.286) against Lynn. The right fielder has mashed 23 homers and driven in 71 RBI over just 124 games. There's a good chance he knocks one out of the park tonight against the struggling Lynn.
