MLB World Series Home Run Prop Bets: Monday (Game 3)

The 2024 World Series shifts to the Bronx for Game 3 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees. The Dodgers hold a 2-0 series lead thanks in large part to early World Series MVP candidate Freddie Freeman. Home runs have been crucial in this matchup with six balls landing in the outfield seats so far. Here’s a look at three players primed to add to that total on Monday evening.

Mookie Betts (+600)

Right-hander Clarke Schmidt draws the nod for New York in Game 3. The 28-year-old enters with a 5.80 ERA and 1.63 WHIP across 11 career postseason innings. It’s also worth noting he has allowed a home run in six of his eight home starts in 2024. Simply put, Los Angeles has a clear opportunity to keep mashing the baseball. The Dodgers have gone yard a ridiculous 24 times in their 13 playoff contests after they finished the regular season with the third-most homers of any squad (233).

Mookie Betts is the pick because of his excellence on the road. The eight-time All-Star has logged a .478/.520/1.087 slash line to go with a team-high four dingers in five away postseason games. Overall, Betts has posted a .835 OPS and racked up 49 extra-base hits in 102 showdowns against the Yankees. He can be trusted to thrive in a hostile environment full of rowdy fans trying to get in his head. Back Betts to round the bases at some point as L.A. aims to take even more control with a 3-0 series lead.

Juan Soto (+450) and Jazz Chisholm Jr. (+700)

New York’s hopes of turning things around begin with a battle versus Walker Buehler. The Dodgers hurler got pounded by the Padres to the tune of six earned runs in five innings in Game 3 of the National League Division Series (NLDS) but then bounced back nicely with four shutout innings against the Mets in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series (NLCS). Take note that Buehler has never faced the Yankees before. One pitch in the wrong spot is all it takes for someone in a lineup full of power to make Buehler pay. Let’s double-dip for a shot at a healthy payout.

Juan Soto’s greatness at home rivals that of Betts’ greatness on the road. The New York outfielder has gone 6-for-14 with three walks, a double and a home run in four playoff contests at Yankee Stadium. That shouldn’t be a major surprise considering Soto ranked sixth among MLB pros with a .960 OPS in home clashes during the regular season. Stepping up when the lights are bright has been his specialty for years.

Let’s wrap this up with an intriguing longshot option. Jazz Chisholm Jr. joined the Yankees at the trade deadline and recorded a hard-hit percentage of 48.5% to go with a 91.6 average exit velocity over 46 games. Both of those marks checked in well above the MLB average. Chisholm showcased his power with a 375-foot homer in the American League Division Series (ALDS) and is 3-for-5 in his career versus Buehler. Throw a sprinkle on him to blast a ball beyond the fence.
